Even though most of the decks that are coming out anymore all feel the same, more or less, what is everyone's opinion on the best handling deck to come out of Kentucky?

Imho i would say either the style deck, while lions series A, or tendril. These are really the only decks that i've noticed feeling differently then all the other custom decks. The white lions series A take the cake though; they handle great and last forever.

The Conversation Parlor / Is there a Discourse troll?
« on: March 02, 2012, 12:35:59 PM »
Over the last few days ive noticed that my fame has been going down. Being as I honestly don't post all that much, just on the topics that really interest me, i went back and checked the threads that i posted on.

It seemed as though someone just went down the most recent page of each other those threads and down famed everyone that loaded on that page. WTF people. already trolling.

(i have a feeling im about to get a ton of down votes on this lol)

I thought that it might be a good idea to start a thread just to discuss random flourishes we've been working on or having trouble with. I also thought that this could be a great spot for anyone to ask questions about a flourish that they might be having troubles with so that someone with more experience might be able to help them through it. Maybe even make unlisted vids on youtube trying to help someone with a specific flourish or cut they might be having trouble with.

Ill even start it off with a problem i've been having. I have been working through the jackson five cut. the first phase i have down. the second phase, sybilism, is giving me a little bit of trouble when you have to peel off the fourth packet between your second and fourth finger on the right hand. for some reason i have a hard time riffling off the right number of cards to break off to make it a stable packet.

Playing Card Plethora / My U.S. regulatins and tall hos just arrived

I love the box for the deck; it is very simple and feels much thicker then the fulton tuck box. The deck faros very well right out of the box face to face. The edges of the deck are also smooth right out of the box (at least the one deck that i opened). Also, the faces are very off white. All the colors on the deck seem to be desaturated compared to a brand new normal deck of circle backs that i also opened up to compare the two.

As for the backs i opened a blue deck and i love the way that it looks. At times it may mess with my eyes, but that doesn't bother me at all.

Of course i will have to play with the deck for a few days to give my opinion on handling and durability. what does everyone else think of the deck?

Does anyone own this DVD? I just dowloaded "Gate 22" to see if id like the feel of the flourishes in the DVD and it is very easy. the reviews say that it is the easiest on the DVD, but although it is very easy it is still a fun flourish.

so does anyone have any opinion on the DVD as a whole?

« on: November 16, 2011, 01:14:23 AM »
What were they thinking when they changed the ace of spades artwork??? of course i know this happened a long time ago, but who in their right mind thought that it was an upgrade to go to what we have now.

im sure that i don't need to explain either of these pics, but SERIOUSLY the old ace is so much better!!! i just dont get why they changed it.

Playing Card Plethora / Tuck boxes need to change!
« on: November 06, 2011, 11:26:54 PM »
Ok, i was reading through the "best card boxes" thread and again it hit me that tuck boxes have yet to change. Why? I understand that they are cheap and effective, but just think about getting your vortex deck in a all new sweet card box.

Soooooo lets brain storm!!!

I personally think it would be awesome to have a card box resemble a cigarette box. (again im not saying i condone smoking.)

Playing Card Plethora / is it possible...
« on: November 04, 2011, 04:27:49 PM »
... to make the magic/performance finish into a smooth finish? I would think they could just not put the dimples into the card and just put the finish on making it a smooth finish, or is there WAY more to it then that?

The Conversation Parlor / Its sad that...

... so many kids these days don't even know how to play hearts!!!! I LOVE PLAYING CARD GAMES. it is actually what got me into cardistry.

who here plays some kind of card game on a regular basis? By regular i mean more than once a month. (im excluding any solitary game.)

Last year on the weekends my room mates and I would sit around with our beverage of choice playing euchre and spades for HOURSE. and it was awesome!

I play Oklahoma Gin with my Dad often, as well as pitch and hearts.

« on: October 11, 2011, 12:04:11 AM »
I am currently attempting to write a film analysis comparing the thematic elements and visual design of north by northwest, citizen kane, and full metal jacket. It is sooo boring! its film class, i shouldnt be writing a 6 page paper every week for this class! o well.

what class are you taking that you hate?

I just started learning this about a week ago. I haven't had much time to practice it, but i can only do the first phase, and pretty choppily at that.

so how long did it take you to learn this flourish? and if you have any tips please do share!

Feedback + Support / Is anyone else REALLY enjoying this forum!?
« on: October 07, 2011, 12:35:27 PM »
I really hope that Aether Cards continues to grow an awesome community like it already seems to have!

I love how i can get on this forum, talk about cards and everything related to cards, and talk about my other hobbies and happenings in the world.

As of now, this is very different all the other forums i've posted on and it is a refreshing experience!

Introduce Yourself / intro to Gunshy1
« on: October 06, 2011, 12:50:42 AM »
hey everybody!!! I decided to introduce myself after i've made a few posts here on the forum. ill start with where i came up with "Gunshy". It is actually half of my xbox live gamertag which is GUNSHY KILLER. (add me if you'd like)

I started flourishing about a year ago, but really never got into much magic. i know a few simple card control tricks, but that's about it. I just love playing cards. My favorite card game would easily be Oklahoma gin; a variation of gin rummy.

I've always been an athlete, but i've always been a huge nerd too. ive been collecting comics for ten years now.

hobbies other then card related things would be bodybuilding (even though that's more a life style), comic book collecting, and video games!

if anyone has any questions about me feel free to ask  :)

Playing Card Plethora / stock stiffness
« on: October 03, 2011, 08:48:25 PM »
The vortex deck will be made of aristocrat stock correct? I just bought a few decks of the aristocrat 727 banknotes and they seem to be a little bit more stiff than other decks with the same stock. (such as the v6's)

is this because of the finish that was used on the decks?
