You know you have a good looking deck when someone else tries to sell it...

Haha, very well said!!!! Actually, I don't think this is a good looking deck. I think it is the BEST LOOKING and MOST PERSONALIZED deck released in 2012.
@Ncyclopedia - I had heard you say you would probably release it on Kickstarter by this summer. Any updates on that?

Thank you guys  :)  Right now my efforts are in trying to get a gallery show/exhibition for the deck. Friends have told me that I need to have a show before funding as a means of getting exposure and publicity, so that's my priority right now.

That is hugely crappy to see your work get ripped off, and done so poorly. Can't imagine how that feels. Sure hope you can prevent any further sales.

You have an amazing piece of art there, but probably not too many people beyond these boards know about it. Spread the word, get social, do all that stuff and when you are ready for the Kickstarter or whatever you'll have people lined up to get them.

Your art and cards is fantastic, truly wonderful. Even though it's not my style, and not something I'd want to do in my own decks, I am horribly, crushingly envious of your work.

I really hope that you can get a gallery show lined up!! As much as I want people to find out about this deck and hopefully back it, I'm more excited that they get to just enjoy the art. I first started out following your project for the art and finding out it may soon become a deck was just a big plus! I'm really excited for you and for those that get to enjoy the product of your hard work and talent.

That video is great, really shows off the artistry. I chatted briefly with Emmanuel last night and might give him a little hand in getting some things together to make this real. His deck has huge potential to be made real, and helping that happen would make me a happy guy. Stuff that good deserves it. Just think of how fantastic the uncut sheet of this deck would be! I think Tendril will look pretty sweet, but Curator would put it to shame. :)

I completely agree. The video perfectly shows off the cards and the technique used to create them. I'm working on a video for mine and hope it comes close to the classiness of the Curator and Tendril videos.

When I saw the new Spectrum deck I thought the colors looked nice but that video they put together just turned me right off of it. The video looks like it was made on old Amiga back in the 80's! Although, I think part of the reason they're doing so well on Kickstarter is partly due to the addition of a video.

I'm surprised that most playing card projects on Kickstarter only have an image as their hero piece. A good example is Sean Whelan's Galvanic Deck. Maya is a great program and could be used to make some very cool animated flourishes, fans, shuffles...in a short amount of time! It would be a great selling tool and could even be the decks trailer after the Kickstarter project is finished up. I think it's a real missed opportunity.

Sorry, I meant to comment on the Curator video and ended up commenting on quite a few other decks!
Hope it's not too off topic.

thanks, Randy

The first time I saw that video it blew my mind! It really does a great job of showcasing both the deck and the artists skills. I remember talking with Emmanuel and it was obvious his passion for art. It was really incredible! I was telling him how amazing this deck would look and I have to agree with xmetal the uncut sheet would be amazing!!

This is one project that is truly inspiring to me as another artist!

Wow, that video is amazing!

Even though I do not collect uncut sheets, I would most likely put up the money to get one of these, it is the perfect art piece. I am sure the deck itself will be wonderful as well.

An uncut of this deck would be fantastic, but the large sized individual handcuts would make great art prints.  I have a long hallway that these would look just perfect in.  :-*  If Emmanuel ever wonders what to do with the individual handcuts, I'll be happy to take them, frame them, and display them to the best of my advantage!! ;D

@Ncyclopedia - I took a look at your blog and was wondering:
How come you have 2 different ace of spades and other spades while not all of the designs for other cards are completed?

He's started a second deck. One he finished last year and one he has started this year but he is still working on it, week by week.

I think he plans on finishing it. I don't know for sure if he plans on printing it. When I first talked to Nyclopdia and invited him to the Discourse he hadn't thought about printing the deck in mass. So I'm guessing that is his goal for now and this is just another art project :) But don't take my word for it ;) I'm sure he'll pop in and clear this up haha

I'm going to complete the second deck. I'd like to make a new deck every year, but I don't know yet what I'm doing next year.

As for the Curator Deck, I've begun framing the cards for shows I booked in local venues:

Beautifull!!

I can't believe you even rounded the corners on every card. Between that and all the grunt work of trimming out all the letters and numbers you must've been thrilled to get to the actual meat of each card design!

thanks, Randy

People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.
