This would look awesome for an uncut sheet. Hopefully this does go to Kickstart with an uncut sheet option.

Hi folks, I'm Emmanuel and I'm the artist of this deck. Many thanks have to go to Brown_Baggs for telling me about The Discourse!

It's been great seeing the feedback so far and if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Hi, Emmanuel! You said you were thinking about using KickStarter for funding, but you needed to do some research. If you decide to use Kickstarter, what kind of general time would you be putting it up? Like, summer 2012?

Hi Lushbob, if I use Kickstarter, I'm hoping it will be put up in the spring.

Thirding uncut sheets and as I said earlier, prints of single cards would be appreciated as well!

Do you mean full size prints? Or just poker size card prints?

A poker sized print would be pointless.
If there were prints, they should be large prints

I haven't designed the back yet, but I will as soon as I finish the King of Diamonds and the 2 Jokers.

I realize I may be opening a can of worms by asking this, but do you think the back should have a border?

You did just open a can of worms  :P
But I think you should have a border. You can always try with and without, and see which looks best!

I generally dislike decks without borders, so I would highly appreciate borders.

I wasn't sure if you meant you wanted to be able to just buy single cards on their own, rather than a whole deck of the cards. But you're right, that would be pretty pointless.

Oh, and about the border issue. I'd probably recommend having a border. I don't personally have a distinct preference, but I know that many people prefer a deck with borders. And on the whole, I think borders make decks look a lot more neat and tidy, and a little more professional too.

Just buy a deck - then you can have 56 poker-sized prints!   :o

There is a thread on that topic and I was arguing heavily in favour of borderless designs there (well, just that I'd like to see some more rather than designers having to avoid it due to so many people instantly dismissing borderless decks).  For this deck, though?  I don't think they should be a borderless deck.  For me, your design makes great use of the white space and I think it would be jarring on the whole to lose that on the back of the cards.  you don't need to go for any kind of standard border, though; it doesn't need to be a frame.  I dunno, I just think that it's a shame that every single deck HAS to have so many millimetres of white space around each edge (and no more, either! No interesting shapes breaking off it, nothing!) or all hell breaks loose.  this is supposed to be a creative medium after all.

Sorry,  I'll just gather up the worms and replace the lid...

Anyway; I love what you've done so far enough that I'll probably buy them no matter what you do but I think the way your designs have been made on the front, the back would not suit a completely borderless design.

I agree. I think your deck would definitely suit a bordered design better than a borderless.

Yeah I agree. The use of white space should carry over the back of the cards. I could see this deck looking amazing with a simple back, similar to the bee stingers. The focus is on the cards themselves and their artwork. I think a nice back for this deck would be a simple but elegant one that compliments the work on the front of the cards.

I'll do my best :) Just to let you guys know, I plan to have a different name for this deck. The "Transformation Deck" is too general.

Without a doubt it is.  "Transformation" is a style of deck, not really a brand name.  It's like naming a pack of cards "Poker" or "Bridge" or "Jumbo Index".

The name that comes immediately to mind would be "Papercuts" - as long as you don't mind that there's a magic trick by the same name.  (Or is it a magic video with a bunch of tricks that has that name?  Anyone?)  Some acknowledgement of the art method used to create the deck faces would be in order, I think, and would make this deck stand out from other designs.

Imagine this being used for a "Cut-and-Restored" trick!  ;D
