I'm not surprised that the first two are Ohio-made - they're old enough to be.  Quality at the Kentucky plant these days is better, especially on small-run decks using the sheet-fed press.  Plus, Magic Finish didn't even really exist then, did it?  The Gold Arcanes had it first, as a test deck and I think the Cage Gardens precede that.

As far as "trick deck", it would be most likely that it comes with a pair of gaffs and some card reveals - nothing exceptional.  It's not like it's a stripper or a Svengali or something!  At most, maybe it has a one-way mark, or perhaps is fully marked - the former being the more likely option.

At first glance, the Cage Gardens were strikingly beautiful to me. The high price tag made me desire it all the more. Sadly, I knew I was unable to with the very steep price tag. Now that a new version is coming out, I'm relieved to say that I'll be adding these to my collection if the price is right, as always. I'm definitely looking forward to what the deck has to offer.

I've only ever seen that with Smoke and Mirrors, really.

And if you're not doing your homework, that gives you even less excuse for not having read it!  In order to add meaningfully to any conversation, it's pretty much a requirement to know what's taken place in it up to present.  Not doing so would be like interrupting a spirited discussion on physics with a question about what surfboard wax everyone likes best.  When they don't surf.  And the nearest ocean wave is at least a thousand miles away.

Wow, they must be good - you rarely see so much hyperbole packed into so few sentences... 

If I had a buck for every deck that got such gushing praise from the people producing it, I'd have a nice new car by now.  Maybe something sportier.

No word here in Beijing yet. I've been asking the magic shops around and they said they don't know for sure. But they are all anticipating it as well. The Cage Gardens were such a big thing in the Chinese Magic/Card community just like the rest of us. They covet it more than the DDs and Nuggets... well thats what the person said though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's the breakdown:

Based on the eBay picture of this pair, the original, highly priced BLACK deck is No.1
The original, highly priced White deck is No. 2.
These two decks, in a set, are considered by many to be called "Version 1".

Based on the current pictures, the newly remade "Truth Gardens" in BLACK is known as No. 3.
Assuming a white version will be released, these two new decks will be called "Version 2".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's the breakdown:

Based on what I've seen on the AoS and the boxes, I'd say it might be more like this.

We have the Bicycle Garden Series - think of it like a book.
We have the Bicycle Cage Garden decks - think of them like the first chapter, with No. 01 and No. 02 being the pages.
This would make Bicycle Truth Garden No. 03 the first page in the second chapter, third page in the book overall - and that book's still being written.

I would not be surprised at all to see this come out either very close to or at the same time as Bicycle Truth Garden No. 04 - the "white" counterpart to No. 03.  Granted, I'm presuming - I have no actual knowledge of No. 04 existing as of yet.

It reminds me of how Trent Reznor put out all his Nine Inch Nails releases with a "halo" number.  Regardless of the different albums and the singles and DVDs that went with them, they kept getting consecutively numbered.  I thought it was rather convenient, since it let you know if there were any gaps in your collection!

If I had to guess, based on the number of pips and the indices in all four corners, this is probably a "four-in-one" gaff; four cards, each in a different suit, printed on the same card.

The Lunar Calendar is also known by some as the Chinese Calendar.  The Lunar New Year, a.k.a. Chinese New Year, was this weekend, specifically Sunday 10 February, with New Year's Eve landing on Saturday 9 February.  So these will be out in about a week - probably the night of Saturday 16 February.

It means Jan 7th in the lunar calendar, in other words, this Saturday (Feb 16th in the solar calendar)

I know that Aloys stated that only 850 decks would be in "store stock", but I'd love to know a total production/distribution number. The "x" number of decks will be "released" and availability for a "limited time only" statements tend to make me lose a bit of enthusiasm for a release such as this. I don't buy as an investment to re-sell, but I do love the challenge and reward of obtaining truly rare decks. Vague production quantity numbers leave so many doors open. Obviously this will be popular in China and surrounding areas, I just wonder about the interest of the standard collector.

Considering that Bicycle Cage Garden Nos. 01 and 02 sell in the low triple-figures each, I'd say there's some interest in them.  But I'm not sure that I'm in the mood to fight most of the world's card collectors for such a short supply of decks - there's no way the print run was only 850.  Either other retailers will be getting this as well or most of what's made is being kept for distribution in China.  I'll have to see what the retail from Aloys will be on this deck.

It's understandable that you'd reserve the lion's share for your home country - it's probably among the few USPC decks available at retail there.  It's also understandable that you'd hold a healthy reserve for your personal use!  It's quite common for a magician or a cardist designing their own deck to keep a hefty amount for themselves - in this case, 10%.

I very much appreciate your arrival in this community and the information you've contributed regarding your deck.  I'd like to personally invite you to participate in all of our public topics.  Our members really appreciate it when we have popular designers, magicians, cardists, etc. adding to our conversations.  I know a fair number of our members are in China, and a somewhat greater number are from the various Asian nations including your own.

Please, make yourself at home.  If you need any help or have unanswered questions, the other moderators and I would be glad to assist you however we can.

The minimum used to be 5,000 but USPC's minimums have a way of changing around a lot.  They raise it when they're getting a lot of junk projects coming in the door as a way of saying "put up or shut up."  For special projects from premium customers, they do make exceptions - for example, Zenneth Kok got a 5K print run on his black New Fan Backs, but was granted permission to make a 1,000 print run for the white NFBs.  Another example of something special would be changing a back color in the midst of a print run which results in a rare transition color, as CARC did for the Pro Bike Skull & Bones (black & red = blood red) and David Blaine did for the Series A White Lions (red & blue = purple "rainbow").

I was unable to find any information on the White Truth Garden Deck (04)...

After the overspending during the 2012 Black Friday to Christmas events, I am still recovering...
However the Garden Set is what I am long after, like many others, the sky high prices of the first two versions have kept me away.

I am therefore looking forward to purchasing a few decks of this new release!

Don, it's correct, but xiaowochang announced the bad news in the previous post. I am not in China either and don't know how to get the decks directly. It's very likely that I will have to get them from the 850 overseas selling decks

Not the US release - the INTERNATIONAL release outside of China.  The company selling the decks is based in Malaysia.

I think by "end of the month" he's being literal - the last day of the month, February 28th.  But even if that isn't correct, aloysstudio.com isn't afraid to promote it - Aloys will likely pop in with a release date AND time as the release approaches.

If you ask me, the guys in America r lucky cos this is going live at peak time, in the UK it'll b 1am. Sigh... The price tag on shipping within the US is more than the deck itself. Unfortunately, I don't have the want right now to buy a brick. For USPS Priority Mail, even factoring in recent price increases, all Flat Rate envelopes and the small Flate Rate box all cost under $6 to ship.  Aloys is charging $11.50.  In essence, she's putting her markup in the shipping rather than in the deck price.  It makes for a very expensive purchase for anyone buying small amounts - which in turn encourages those with the cash to do so to buy larger amounts and "save" on shipping.  Those without the cash to do so are simply S.O.L.

Yeah, I didn't actually realise it until I was looking at my order history, however was still a bit surprised that there was no follow up paypal invoice saying that I had underpayed. With the topic of shipping in mind, $29 for a brick is still no where near as outrageous as what some people have wanted to charge me before. Stranger and stranger want to charge me $57 to ship the collectors box; something that will fit nicely inside a small to medium flat rate envelope for half the cost. Some eBayers have even tried charging me $35 for a "Priority mail small flat rate box" for 2 decks of cards. They tried factoring in their own travel times, etc. however it is a strict violation of eBay's TOS. Let's just say they weren't too happy about things...

I ever bought a deck from him and think he is an experienced international seller. He uses a small envelope to ship a single deck with tracking number. The deck was wrapped with cardboard and bubble and arrived safely. (see the attached pics)

The initial listing was a "Buy It Now" for an unspecified number of these decks - it showed up as something like "10+" if I recall.  It's not impossible that he'd relist in the future, but he didn't need to at the time since he already had an ongoing listing - he could have just raised the quantity and kept on selling.

I just checked today to see if my items had shipped and realized this. If you guys haven't received your order shipping info that may be the reason.

I was worried about this too, but thers a button that says "make paid" and it opens a window for you to populate with the paypal invoice number, etc... then the account shows as paid.

I'm glad i could help.  I wrote them an email when i realized the situation and  just got one back saying that my shipment will go out next week. so hopefully you will all get yours soon as well.

Interesting...  I created a new account, never having shopped there before, including address info.  I don't have my decks yet, but I did get notification via PayPal that my package shipped and it included the tracking number.  The package originated in Amelia, OH and by now has been accepted and sent from the sort facility in Cincinnati.  It will probably be in my mailbox around midweek.  It's entirely possible that they simply didn't get around to your shipment yet.

As I stated above, they're shipping out of Ohio, so yes, you probably only paid for domestic shipping.  I don't recall eBay making any distinctions about shipping options when I ordered, though for me it was a domestic order...  International shipping from the US got more expensive in the past few weeks - rate increase.

This happened to me as well.

Whether the oversight was PayPal's, eBay's or Aloys', somehow the ship-option selection got left out.  It's looking like everyone paid for domestic shipping no matter where they live.

A one-brick order rarely ships in the brick box - it's cheaper to use an envelope.  With practice and care, you can fit an entire brick into a single Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope.

It's even more useful when dealing with retailers that have a bad rep for seriously overcharging for overseas deliveries (cough-cough-BUCKTWINS-cough)...    It's great for dealing with Black Friday to Cyber Monday, too - the one time you're most likely to be racking up a lot of purchases over a single weekend from a variety of retailers.

Received mine today in the uk! Unfortunately, one of the decks got a little mashed up on one corner, but the cards inside had only minor damage to one of the jokers so I'm still happy!

Quick question for anybody that's received them: is it me or do the cards seem to be a little thinner than the tuck? Mine seem to rattle around quite a bit inside. I know there's normally some space between the edges of the cards and the inside sides of the box, but this seems to be the front and back of the deck. Could this imply a thinner stock was used?

Course, I could be wrong, as I don't know a great deal about stock and printing processes. But it seems strange for a USPCC bicycle deck.

I got mine yesterday. Oddly enough the two boxes appear slightly different, one being slightly darker in color than the other. I also have not received the one I won on her Facebook contest for some reason.

Agreed. I really don't like having to rely on eBay sellers for decks I miss the release for. Unfortunately, I did miss the release of these earlier this year so eBay it was.

Their website has worked fine for me for past sales, I never have seen the crashes like you see on some sites, so you should be good. I'm always there the second that the item becomes available, and the process has always gone smoothly. They say that they will only have about 800 decks available to sell, so based on previous sales,  I would guess that they will sell out in 3-5 hours, but don't hold me to that. If you're not there in the first minute, don't worry, you will still be fine.

This is mostly correct.  The Garden Series decks were designed in China and intended largely for the Chinese card-flourishing market.  The lion's share get sold in China to domestic and some other Asian buyers.  Aloys Studio did make a deal with them to sell the "worldwide" portion of the deck inventory for them about a month after the Chinese/Asian supply went on sale, and it would seem they have the same deal in place for this deck - so I'm guessing that it already went on sale in China.  I'm surprised no one has spoken of it, but the few regulars we had that knew and had access to the Chinese market haven't checked in for a while, so I'm guessing that no one actively here today knew.

Well, there's the language barrier, and the fact that Taobao is very much more popular for trading goods in China and other parts of Asia than eBay is...  I'd search for them on Taobao but my Mandarin is, well, non-existant...  Oh, and there's the fact that I'm just speculating that they went on sale in China already, based on the release schedule of the No. 03 deck...

Last time I saw any crap like this, it was with Skulkor and their first deck, also called Skulkor.  They were taking orders (not pre-orders, but actual orders), but announcing that the deck would take at least eight weeks to ship or some other ridiculous figure, which got delayed because of some fancy boxes that a third party supposedly was making for them getting screwed up and having to be remade.  Bottom line, a lot of people canceled their orders, because between that and the creepy "brotherhood" ad campaign, it looked a little shady, like they were using the cash from the "orders" to pay for the deck to get printed in the first place, rather than printing it first and having it shipped when it was ordered.

AFIAK, they're shipping from somewhere in the Pacific/Indian Ocean area, so it's not impossible that it's late - but at the least they should let their customers know, be more open about what's happening, and not leave people with incomplete orders hanging in customer service hell.  It's very unprofessional.

I ordered mine on release day, and I think they arrived at the shipito warehouse on Saturday. I don't know for sure that its these cards because I didn't want them to open the package. Can't imagine what else it could be though as I don't order that many bricks. If it is them though, I'd imagine most US orders will be receiving theirs this week too if aloys sent them all at the same time.
