Hey All,

I found this vintage deck the other day.

Any idea of what year it may be from?

Does this style have a name/model number?

Thanks for your help.

Looks like a Racer Back No. 2 from 1943. There's a little to read about the design here:
http://www.jimknapp.com/Cards/Bicycle.htm
According to that site Bicycle produced cards with this back until around 1949. The tax stamp indicates that they were produced from 1940 onward
httpsss://sites.google.com/site/cardconjurer/article/dating/taxstamps
The war bonds ad card clues us in that these were produced in the early 40s while WWII was ongoing, and we can pinpoint the date using the letter printed on the ace of spades https://www.leeasher.com/blog/how-to-date-a-deck-of-playing-cards.php
Cool find! A similar back design, Racer Back No. ,1 is still used on Bicycle's Euchre decks.

Thank you so much for all of this information and links!!!

I really appreciate the time you took to help me.
I also liked how you talked me through the detective work...very cool.

I found this deck in the dollar basket of an antique store.

Curious..Any idea what they might be worth?
(I just want to keep them bc they're cool)
Deck is open but seems otherwise unused.
Cards are in excellent condition and in still order.
The war bond paper was wrapped around the cards at the opening so I doubt they were ever taken out before I got them.

peace,

Of course! Just trying to pay forward the help that others have given me.  Plus it helps me learn more about playing cards as well!  Luckily for us others have dedicated a ton of time and effort to compiling those invaluable resources.  I'm glad if I can do my part to help spread the wealth.  All in all I am still very new to card collecting and not the right person to answer a tricky question of valuation.  I see a few on eBay for $50 but eBay prices can be a bit all over the place.  Hopefully someone will be able to give you a better answer on that and likewise I know there or many others on this forum who could offer much more information than I have available.  Either way its a beautiful deck in good condition- you certainly got yourself a bargain!
