That's exactly my plan haha I just hope the mark up isn't more than the shipping and deck price combined (I'm referring to the prices on Aloys).

They didn't sell out as fast as I thought they would at 2 1/2 hours, but I'm still glad I got my 4 decks.

I didn't manage to get any this time... damn work getting in the way. I am surprised how long it took to sell out though, from everyones hype I would definitely thought these would sell out in under an hour.

A deck this rare, part of a rare series, will have a healthy markup I'm sure - at least right away, anyway.

Would you dare to say that the price might have turned some people off? I know it did for me. As badly as I wanted this deck, I only buy two to three at a time. I can't find it justified to pay that much for a deck. I would say it might be the same for some others. Maybe not a lot but I'm sure a good few. And seeing as only 850 were internationally released, a few less buyers makes a difference.

Wouldn't having such a limited release reduce the affect of having a few less buyers, since there would still be plenty looking to buy? I do agree that the shipping price could cause issues. Saying that, I think domestic orders were still reasonably priced, at least from a canadian perspective, our domestic prices are still more than that. The international rate is high, but not completely unreasonable for a 4 deck order, people might just not be used to USPS Priority pricing, plus you will probably be able to resell the 1 or 2 of a 4 deck order and cover all the costs.

For USPS Priority Mail, even factoring in recent price increases, all Flat Rate envelopes and the small Flate Rate box all cost under $6 to ship. Aloys is charging $11.50. In essence, she's putting her markup in the shipping rather than in the deck price. It makes for a very expensive purchase for anyone buying small amounts - which in turn encourages those with the cash to do so to buy larger amounts and "save" on shipping. Those without the cash to do so are simply S.O.L.

I understand that it is a markup in with domestic shipping, I was just saying that from an Canadian point of view, $12 shipping for 4 decks isn't half bad. It would usually cost me closer to $20 to ship 4 decks in Canada within a timeframe of 1-3 days, unless I was shipping to Vancouver, since it is the main hub in western Canada anyway, but I do agree with what you are saying.

Yeah, I didn't actually realise it until I was looking at my order history, however was still a bit surprised that there was no follow up paypal invoice saying that I had underpayed. With the topic of shipping in mind, $29 for a brick is still no where near as outrageous as what some people have wanted to charge me before. Stranger and stranger want to charge me $57 to ship the collectors box; something that will fit nicely inside a small to medium flat rate envelope for half the cost. Some eBayers have even tried charging me $35 for a "Priority mail small flat rate box" for 2 decks of cards. They tried factoring in their own travel times, etc. however it is a strict violation of eBay's TOS. Let's just say they weren't too happy about things...

Actually it could have missed the chance to buy this deck if I didn't know some collectors in China. No one sells this deck in Taiwan and no Taiwanese uses Taobao. Also, this page states I can not buy it: http://www.aloysstudio.com/goods-41724.html

Fortunately I got 6 decks from a friend with reasonable shipping fee anyway.

USPS shipping is too expensive now. I got the decks from China and the postage was only $3.2. And of course that seller may sell the deck with that price, not to mention if he is a playing card retailer.
