The Conversation Parlor / Feedback on project sharing platform
« on: February 16, 2020, 04:21:36 PM »
Hello all!

Some friends and I have recently built a platform that allows coders, creatives, and builders to showcase projects they've done and share what they've built. Our goal is to build a community on the platform and facilitate engagement by encouraging users to provide feedback and scoring each other's projects. This is the fundamental core of the platform.

On the back burner is a hiring aspect, so companies can join the platform as well and host challenges, in addition, to hire from the pool of users based on their projects. We believe the current screening process is based on pieces of paper like degrees and resumes and not truly showing someone's true potential and capabilities accurately. So we think a platform that disincentivizes assimilation and encourages differentiation by showcasing what you've actually done and being measured by that, not measured by abritrary pieces of paper is a better solution.

I would love your feedback on the current state of the platform that we've built as well as feedback on the context I've provided.

The link to the platform is here: https://joinhelm.com/

Thank you, as all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: The Retarded Magician

The video was made to be silly.

Do you know how the trick is done?

Yes, me for instance. It's ignorant and tiresome to see.

I apologize, it wasn't meant to be offensive, and like I said it was just to see what people thought.

Any ideas for another video that would be less ignorant, less impromptu, and more serious?

And so you guys didn't like the video, but how about the trick?

No offense taken. It wasn't really meant to be anything. Me and a buddy were up all night and I filmed it literally right before I posted it here. We were just screwing around too see. I think that we may have been too slap happy, so it was only funny to us at the momment because of that. But yeah it was completely impromptu just wanted to test it out. There was no script he just said let's make a video and I started filming.

I appreciate your input though honestly. Thank you.

I know it's not really parkour, but a lot of lay men that have no knowledge of it and see usually think of parkour even though it isn't.

Do any of you know what tricking is?

I was just wondering. If you don't know what it is, it's similar to parkour. It involves flips, twists, and basically just defying gravity.

If you want to check out a video of what it is, go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghqM1XfkqzE

One of my friends created the channel and he has created a team and they trick together and that is one of the videos they made. If you like it watch a few more of their videos and even other peoples.

Thanks,
Austin

@Siegismyname Yeah, i'm not sure where he got that from. I noticed it, and yes the jokers do look better than the normal ones. Also Thanks for response.

@Don I will be sure to tire and help him recover his memory, as my friend told me that at around two in the morning he was laying down in his bed and all of a sudden J.r. ( His dad ) came up to his room and said look at this i've been practicing all night. My friend said it was good it's just his handling was very bad. Thanks for your response as well to.

Also my friend said he is going to not play as many games and start learning magic to help his dad and to make sure his two little sisters are going to become magicians one a flouisher and the other a card magician, like his dad wanted them to be. And my friend can tell you how you did almost about how you did every trick because his dad would practice on him that much.

The Conversation Parlor / Bad Event...
« on: November 28, 2012, 12:17:17 AM »
So over this weekend, two people I know had a seizure. The first person was my friends dad, and he did magic. Magic was not just his hobby but his lifestyle, while video games on the side was his hobby, and his 18 mouth old daughter had one just a day after him.

I live about 5 minutes from their house, and I would stay the night and hang out with my friend and then at night I would go downstairs and do some magic. You might know him by his Facebook name J.r. Ghostking.

It's sad because when he woke up he didn't even know his son's name, or remember what magic was! They currently use PS3, but a while ago they used to use Xbox 360's and he thought that, that is what they still use. He also said he saw his mom or aunt or something along those lines yesterday, but the person he said he saw is no longer alive.

Please put him in your prayers and hope that he remembers the stuff he used to remember like magic!!!

                                                              Thanks,
                                                          Austin Drabik

I wanted to start a new channel and make funny youtube videos with my friend, like reality TV shows kind of. But I wanted to see if you guys had any ideas of funny things you would like to see on youtube. We are 13 and 14 years old, please I would love to hear all of your ideas.

If you are good at designing zombies or even semi-good, then please send me a message at drabikrider2323@gmail.com And I will tell you why i'm wondering.

Design & Development / Re: Group-made project - recruiting newcomers?
« on: August 09, 2012, 05:08:42 PM »
I like the first one better. But that's just me. The only problem so far is that we had planned on having the same numbers and indexes in the corners for every card. But that wouldn't be a big deal to change.
Ohh okay haha
