Bicycle card question...

There are hundreds of Bicycle back designs (if not more) but reference material seems to be almost universally limited to 82 vintage backs. I know there are vintage decks and modern decks but today's modern is tomorrow's vintage. What's defining that specific cutoff point?

Now you're just being a tease, lol

All four War Series...Nice. That looks like a treasure you found rather than something that you build over time. What's the back story?

The cards look nice. The box looks nice. The two together seems an odd pairing with such drastically different styles.

Hey Everyone,

I'm a bicycle single collector who's hit the wall finding cards that I "need" to fill in the gaps in my collection. There's plenty on eBay but most are for examples that I already have. I've also tried estate sales but don't think I've ever found anything.

Do any members have any ideas for finding cards or have singles that you're willing to sell? I can provide a list but there's honestly too many to list here.

I have a pair of Bicycle Sprocket #2 that are two different "Blue" back shades. One is blue and the other very dark (navy of maybe even black). I've done a bit of research and only see reference to red and blue.

The dark one is an Air Cushioned finish and the lighter one has an Ivory finish. The paper color on both are consistent with old paper.

Any idea what I'm looking at? Why is one so dark and one so light? Did the ink color vary that much from one lot to another?

Thanks for the info.

I was looking at one for sale and was trying to determine if it might be a reprint. I couldn't find an example of a reprint in my online searches so I ended up buying it.

Probably overpaid but sometimes you have to pull the trigger and take what's available as the choices are often few at any given time.

Does anyone know if there was a reprint deck that included the US8 Ace in a Rider Back?

Thanks for the reply.

It's helpful to know that they used the modern court cards.

Are there any tells on the back design? It looks the Heritage Acorn are a lighter brown and have a thinner outside border but I'm working from pictures online. Do you know if that's true?

Are there any differences that can help one tell the difference between an original card and one from the Heritage Series. One I'm specifically looking at is the Acorn Brown.

I appreciate any insight you can share.

Hey everyone!

I'm Bruce from western New York. I'm interested in completing a collection of Bicycle back singles. Hoping to learn some more information on them, like how to identify the reprints, and maybe find another source for cards to buy.

Happy collecting.
