Whatever you do, DON'T reply to this! He will probably ask for your personal info, and that's when all hell breaks loose!

I just sent magicgeek a message about this. I doubted this was fake because:
1) There are no employees at magic geek, just a director, from my knowledge
2) His sentences weren't correctly punctuated and stuff, missing capitals etc.

I don't get why they do this though... The same guy said this to me and Joshua, yet we live on 2 different continents...
WTF?

It's a scam, they try to get you to pay for 'postage' on the non-existent items etc.  On 2 different continents; he's scamming you, not actually posting anything.  He's looking for people who do magic unboxings on youtube, nothing more.

He's probably messaging several people a day, just to try his luck and see if any sucker would take his offer. We all know there're some people out there who are ignorant enough and not realize is a scam.

I just want to know what will happen if someone eventually replies? He cant really harm you if you don't follow any links of his or give him your credit card, so I don't see what he could gain from this, unless he get's your email, or home address. But even then, if you only message through YouTube (so he can't get your email), and if you have a P.O. box (so he doesn't know where you live) I don't see how this could harm you or give him any gain of any sort (other then tricking someone, but that's plain lame)  :t11:

P.S. Copy the devil head and paste it...look at what it says. It's quite hilarious.

Good decision, idk why he would target magicians to scam ???
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

What is the point of that anyway? Its just dumb and I guess he doesn't know that there is a whole community that talks about things like these.

Well the problem is there isn't always a community to help out those offered this. Also, he probably has a way of using your address to make money. Maybe by having companies send ads there.

Some people just don't have anything better to do than to spam people and create viruses.

What if anyone really reply to him?
From reading this I think we should have a topic that contains everything about scammers that someone noticed.
So that we could protect ourselves from these people.

I was once scammed in decks trade too.
So, what do you think?

How would you keep track of who's who? Are you talking about members in the forum only or the whole community?
You could easily change your name, or even close down the particular account and open up another one for more scams. It'd hard, maybe not undoable (that's not a word is it...), but it'll be very hard.

A person address, Facebook, username, email, youtube channel and everything.
Yes, they can change it, but to get deceiving Facebook/Profile on things aren't easy.

Ahck... this David person strikes again huh?
well as you already read from the others response... he is a scammer who has nothing better to do with his pathetic excuse of a life. He must be very lonely in front of his computer trying to get people to give him their personal info....
He is probably sending those Spam mail about a rich Arab Heir who wants to share his wealth that he got from a dead uncle or something. ***sigh***
Just be wary and have constant vigilance...
