So, recently I pledged for a portable macro lens (to be used with smartphones) via Kickstarter. Their company is called Easy-Macro, and their lens arrived about week ago. However, it arrived cracked, so they kindly sent me another one. So, I currently I have two attachable macro lenses for my Galaxy S4.

THE POINT IS: I am now able to take incredible close-up (macro) shots of practically anything. One day, I sat down with a playing card and began to examine its intricacies. I've taken some pictures that I would like to share with you guys. If you'd like to request any particular deck, I'd be happy to.

So, can anyone guess what this deck is?

(Sorry for the apparent distortion, adequate lighting is a bit of a issue when your camera is centimeters away from the object your capturing.)

Hope you guys enjoy! :))

That's fun! I saw a Kickstarter project that gave you a way to rubberband some macro lenses to your tablet/mobile device. Are you using the same thing?

Aurum: The deck so awesome, not even it's designer knows how detailed it is.

That's awesome! I just received my Aurum decks and the detailed design is amazing.  Definitely one of my top favorite decks so far.  The design on the Deco is awesome, too! If you have a deck,  it would be really nice to see the detail on those,  also.  :)

Haha! I drew that continuous line by hand at such a large size that it still shocks me when I see it on the card, packed into that tiny space.

It's CONTINUOUS?

Jesus. Do you still have the original drawing? I'd love to see it.

I think it's also symmetrical but the axis of symmetry or point of reflection is not flat across the card,  but at a slight angle. Maybe it's to be expected that it's symmetrical,  but to me,  having a continuous intricately detailed line like that *and* having it symmetrical is amazing.

Yes, that line detail is continuous, doesn't cross itself and is symmetrical and reflected across the center at about a 15 degree angle. Straight across would have been boring. :) I have the original pencil drawing (which is half the card of course, I scanned it and tweaked it heavily to get a seamless reflection). I'll have to post that up.

Starting to get better...have to stay dedicated...can't lose any more cards in the middle of a trick.  Literally, completely lost a card.

If you have an old laser pointer or perhaps a CD/DVD player you can take the lens and make yourself a, less convenient, microscope set-up for free.

I'm bowing out of this one.

You should attempt what Lee Asher did on his site - take REALLY close shots.  He went in so close, the dimples from the embossing were like divots on the green!
