  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

It's a design with potential, but seriously flawed.

The color scheme is OK, I guess, but a bit lifeless.  And the pips - so the red pips are light red on the left, dark red on the right, while the black pips are dark red on the left, light red on the right?  This would drive me blind just trying to play with them.  Applying the rule of thumb "Would my old poker buddies play with this deck?", the answer is a resounding NO.

The one-way back will hurt sales.

The spot cards are also a bit confusing in terms of choices made.  They appear to have either one or two of the design elements chosen for that value, but with no rhyme or reason as to why it's either one or two.

Fix the colors, make the spot cards more consistent, and you might have a good deck here.

A quote from the project home page: "A modern twist to century old tales, the Revenge desk focuses on detail."  The art style is modern, but the images depicted are still from the Dark Ages.

Maybe I'm just cranky, but I don't like this deck.

I only just noticed the Spades and Club suits are red. Yes, I agree with Don, this is really bad.
I do really love the clean design style and the number card images are cool. The box is great.
Although thanks to Don all I see is red now...too much red...

Strange rendering of the tuck case... I though designers can do that better. Infelicitous backgrounds for court cards. But the backgrounds can get some interesting improvement, I think.

The courts and pips are rather small.  It's hard to see them...

I agree I'd like to see him resize a little larger. I think it's great he's decided to go with MPC though, so he gets his deck made. The courts are fun, so are the jokers. I like them, the color choices make it a little difficult for me though.

  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.
He is going to try a few recolours on the black suits and find something that works better. I like the design, but not more than I dislike makeplayingcards.com
Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.

Would one of you guys invite the designer over here so we can have a real, frank discussion about his deck?
