Sorry took so long to post this, been very busy last two days. I ordered from Digipunk and the service was great, package wonderful, no damage what so ever and arrived quickly. Perfect.

Thank you.

Also, just wanted to see if anyone knew (slightly off topic) one of the decks came without add cards? I know this is in no way your fault Digipunk and I am not complaining (let's face it I only ever keep the add cards if I can't be arsed to lose them). It came sealed in cello and seal - was there just a general lack of add cards from uspcc? Or...

Thanks again digipunk - totally recommended.

@hazofhorsham, you really make me nervous :P
What do you mean the "add cards"? I may open other decks to confirm this, but what are "add cards"? :o
Could you show me the pics?  :o

*PS: hazofhorsham is the buyer of the last Holiday Back set.

*PS: hazofhorsham is the buyer of the last Holiday Back set.

What he meant was "ad cards", as in the extra cards in the deck used for advertising.  While it's not common these days, USPC did occasionally release some of their models with less than the commonly found fifty-six in a pack (fifty-two playing cards, two jokers, and two cards with advertising).  I just opened a pair of really old-looking Cincinnati Bee bridge-sized decks (I don't think they make them anymore), and the packs came with jokers but without ad cards.

It's entirely possible that USPC felt it inappropriate to include ad cards in a holiday-themed deck like that without someone taking offense to it.  I couldn't begin to guess the reason it was left out of the bridge deck, other than that with a deck of such a comparatively low print run and a smaller card size, maybe no advertisers were interested.

If anyone was curious to determine the age of my decks, I have one of them on me now at work.
* Cincinnati box
* Blue sticker with a white margin turned semi-transparent from aging
* Loose cellophane; practically fell off the deck
* Old-style tuck back ("Extra Selected for Club Special")
* Long lid flap
* AoS date code is E1400, which would pin it down to either 1983 or 2003.
* White background on the tuck box has a yellow patina.

If I had to guess (and it would be a guess) I'd say it was 1983.  I might even be able to get more - they were something like $3 a pack!

Just opened a set, please see pics below.

It is interesting to know the RED cards are face up and the GREEN cards are face down in the box. The last picture shows the order of 56 cards, note that the 2 decks are different. Besides, the RED deck is classical cut (back to face) and the GREEN deck is traditional cut (face to back). "T" on the AoS denotes 1994. They handle better than I expected.

@hazofhorsham, I still don't understand what you meant. :o :o

Now I am cleaning the sticker and its residue :karrit: :karrit:

It's very interesting that they mixed the cuts for these two decks.

Rule of thumb: when opening a brand new USPC deck, if the top of the cards are at the top of the box, they're traditionally cut.  If the cards' tops are at the bottom of the box, they used the modern cut on them.  I forget where I learned that tidbit from, but it's interesting to know.  You'll notice if you haven't already that almost every new deck is packed top-to-bottom, particularly Standard Bikes.

Just sent the package, the tracking number is RA274014339TW
USPS: https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction

Nathan, we need to talk, what does "missent" mean?

1. incorrect ZIP code?
2. incorrect address?
3. your family refused to sign the small parcel?

No, I don't know what happened.
I check the shipping status everyday, see it arrived at Customs, USPS facility, arrival at unit, and... missent...WTF :mindf-ck:
Sometimes if the buyer is not at home to sign the package, I will see "1st attempted delivery" in the tracking system. But this time it says "missent", I don't know what happened.

Maybe misspent means the address doesn't exist.

Maybe the guy who delivered the package sent it to a wrong address and the receiver returned it. Possibly they'll try it again tomorrow and Nathan would have it in his hands.

I know, I Google'd "missent USPS" before I posted the previous messages. It's one of the possibilities, but I don't believe I would make such a stupid mistake... :-\ :-\
I hope things will end up a good result.

In worst case, the decks should be returned to you.

Actually, the worst case is that it's missent to some other person and he/she signed and received it. Then the package is lost and neither Nathan nor digipunk would get it.

Wow. I'm really sorry that happened. I don't know why. No, I didn't get anything from UPS saying I wasn't at home when they delivered. And the package wasn't refused either. I really have no clue what happenned... what should I do?

No, in that case it wouldn't have said missent because someone would have received it...
I don't know what to do...

Did you lose any money because of this?

That's really weird... It's weird because I bought from many other sellers on the Discourse without a problem. But it's ok since it's not your fault... Can you please PM me the adress you sent it to?

I'll bet it ended up on the wrong truck somewhere. Don't worry. It will get there.

I hope things will end up a good result.

These kinds of things happen with the US Postal Service.  They're great when everything works well, terrible when things don't.  I had a brick of Black Crowns get sent back to Blue Crown because the post office employee who handled it at my P.O. though there was no such person at the address - the address being my P.O. Box, which I'd been using for a few years at that point...

Insurance doesn't often help, either, particularly on a collectible item.  You have to jump through a number of hurdles to make a claim, and it's particularly difficult when claiming a lost collectible that's increased in value since its initial release.

It's true that the USPS is cheaper than UPS, but UPS provides guarantees while the USPS doesn't.

"Missent" likely means in this case exactly what it sounds like - someone other than the intended recipient or their authorized agent received the package.

A phone call to the postmaster for that ZIP code would be the first solid course of action in getting this sorted out, I think.

"Missent" means that the first sort facility put the package in the wrong bin based on the zip code.
After that the address is not looked at until it arrives at the local Post Office.
"Arrival at unit" means the local Post Office, not the addressee.
So the local Post Office realized the mistake and probably now is rerouted.
For sure it was not delivered to a wrong person.
