Title: NEW DECK - Zoom In Pr1me
Post by: xZEROx on March 19, 2012, 01:01:53 PM
via 52cartes

It's got a custom seal, court cards, and the aces are customized too.

I like it. The gradient on the box is a nice touch rather than just solid colour and the ace pips look really dainty. I prefer the red to the blue, but that's typical for me of most red/blue decks, although the blue appears to be a nice deep blue on the backs, at least in those pictures. The whole deck has a nice Venetian feel to it, which I like.

I picked up a few from the official website itself. I couldn't see the blue deck on the French website and the official website was 50 cents cheaper (although I don't know about shipping).

I had to giggle at the shipping though. It gave two options for three decks - €9.90 ($13) or €21 ($27). It seemed like the first was for European countries and the other was for International. May sound annoying, but it always tastes sweet to see USians pay more for shipping as you guys always complain about prices without ever really needing to worry about steep shipping prices or customs taxes. Of course, I could be wrong. I don't know for sure if the latter price was for international and I didn't bother to check shipping to other countries.

And yes, I made up that demonym.

EDIT - also, the official website has an extra 'goody'. You can choose from the first 100 printed of these decks. They are numbered, signed, and have some sort of seal. And there is an additional card inside that is also numbered and signed. They start at €19 ($25) for the higher numbers up to €55 ($72.60) for number 5, and a variety of prices for inbetween numbers. Not something I particularly care about.

EDIT EDIT - Jeez, talk about karma. I was caught giggling at the USians and just realised that this UK seller (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ACE-OF-WALES-Playing-Cards/Pr1me-/_i.html?_fsub=2877838017&_sid=1055062387&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322) is selling the cards for £5 (€6; $7.94) - cheaper than the official website. Not only that, but the seller also has free shipping to UK addresses! As you'd expect I quickly sent an email to Prmepokercards asking to cancel my order! I hope they accept.

Normally, I do shop around quite a bit. I don't know why I thought I'd be best buying from either of those in the initial post. :(

United States buyers can get them from a U.S. seller so they don't have to worry about shipping from overseas.

WAIT a minute, gang.

@xZEROx: did you do a search first before creating this topic?  We've got a long-running topic on these cards already.  And they aren't "Zoom In Pr1me" cards.  The "zoom in" is when 52cartes shows off a series of photos of one particular deck - it's not part of the brand name!

We don't need a second topic for the same deck.

Ha I must have missed out on that discussion. Not exactly what I'd call "long-running", but it's been there for a while.  I assumed it was a new deck since 52cartes posted about it. Sorry about that. This thread will be locked.
