Playing Card Plethora / Re: KADAR deck of playing cards (KS)

I would never use these to play with, it's too difficult to see the suit under the font used.

However, I would like to add these to my collection, I think the designs on the female courts are great.

I don't know whether to like these or to dislike them...

I love the joker that's just the skull & the other joker is alright.
I guess the pips are OK, although I would never use these for a game of cards or a performance.
I don't like the royas or the box design at all. WAYYY too cheesy for me.

I'm surprised no one mentioned "13 Steps to Mentalism" by Corinda. This is usually one of the first books people will recommend for getting into mentalism. It was my first book and I found it very useful and informative.

Check out this book.  Its old but gotta love the classics.

Thank-you both very much, I'll check them out :)

Not big on Mentalism but I've heard Confessions of a Conjuror by Derren Brown is a good book. Also, you could try out some mind reading/marked decks to perform some Mentalism. The Code by Andy Nyman has got rave reviews. Rich Fergusons Ice breaker deck is pretty good too.
Thank-you very much! I've been planning to purchase the code for some time, it looks really good.

There was also a strange effect he had where he could make the word being guessed appear on the subject's body, usually an arm.  That should also be selling at E.
Thanks! Do you have any idea what that was called?

Hi there,

Does anyone know some good books to use to begin learning & using mentalism?
I really want to learn some of the basic tricks, as well as the principles so that I can customize them. (The tricks, I mean)

Many thanks.  :D

Introduce Yourself / Re: How did you find PlayingCardForum?
« on: December 31, 2013, 04:52:09 AM »
When I had only just got in to playing cards, I was watching a lot of deck reviews. I was actually searching Google for the worst decks of playing cards and I found a video by Alex detailing his least favourite decks. Right at the start there was a link to the discourse so I followed it & arrived here.

Already 10% of the target paid for. In approximately 10 minutes.

I quite like these, but I'm not sure about the faded-out version of the back behind each card face.

These remind me of divine...

Did anyone watch this?
Saw the end bit where they cut the guy in half. :)
That's probably my favourite time I've seen that done.

He was on America's got talent at one point doing that.

itv player can't be watched outside of UK
What about proxies?
I use them to get on to America-only stuff so people not living in the UK should be able to get on to ITV player with them.
A good (easy to use) one is HideMyAss.

Edit: Forgot to say, they are legal (Unlike Pirate Bay)

The guy claims he was involved with making the Arcane Gaff Deck!  I seriously question that statement...

:) Do you have a link to that profile?

And now www.the-con-artist.com hasn't even bothered to renew their domain name for this year.

This deck looks set to break records! [/sarcasm]

Jeez, these sound awesome.

Times that I wish I was in black club.  :(

3rd Janurary 2014.
:D

Does anyone have any idea how much they're going to be?

They look pretty awesome but I don't want to pay >$100.00 for a recolour.

That's really weird. However, if the cards are fine, I don't think you can. And somehow I can't see many people opening theirs. :)

I went for the ghosts because they are weirdly eerie and yet really nice to use.

Introduce Yourself / Hi!
« on: November 13, 2013, 02:53:17 PM »
Hi there!  :)

My name's Tomas & I'm from East Sussex, England.
I've quite recently started collecting cards & I've learnt a bit of card magic, mostly through Youtube stuff.
I got interested in cards after I was searching Google for "What is the best set of cards for magicians?" and found a link to the Black Ghost deck. I then discovered that there are (shock horror) more designs of playing cards than the ones I got for £0.99 from my local shop.
I found out about the forum through http://www.youtube.com/user/deckmastercards/.
