Title: Old decks - what do you do with them?
Post by: EndersGame on December 03, 2017, 01:09:21 AM
Let's say you've worn out a deck of playing cards, whether from playing card games, performing card magic, or doing cardistry.  It's clumpy and no longer handles well, and it's ready for retirement.

Or maybe it handled poorly from when you first got it.

What do you do with it now?

And is the answer different depending on whether it's a standard Bicycle rider-back deck or a custom deck?

There are some magic tricks and card gaffs that call for destroying a playing card or two.  Worn out or damaged decks are perfect for this.

They're also good to give to a kid to play with - they're likely to ruin them anyway, so they come pre-ruined!

I've also heard of people getting autographs on playing cards and saving the deck.
