Of all the places to meet a magician, I was checking out at Costco and the guy noticed my brick of Rider Backs. He asked me if I was a magician or a poker playing, I said a bit of both but that my passion was in producing and designing custom decks.

He seemed to know a bit about that stuff and asked me if I had a website, hopefully he'll come by! I actually hadn't eaten anything for over 24 hours so my mind wasn't exactly in the "meeting new people" mode, and I forgot to ask his name.

Anyways, it would be great to have more magic/card oriented people to know here in Vegas.  :-X

Don't tell me there's a shortage of magicians in Vegas, of all places...  ;)

Yes, it would be cool.

Wow, it's such a small world! And who knew at Costco too! By the way, are you positive it was an actual magician or just a fanatic? You did say you didn't get any information.

Awesome story, hopefully we see him around the Boards sometime soon :)

I really wish I could meet some local magicians :(
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Jealous.  I feel like magician's (esp. ones my age) are a rare breed around here.

Now don't you go sayin' country, 'cause there's no way...

In fact, unless you live in the state of Confusion, there's got to be some magical talent roaming around your state somewhere, and not just with the bears and the wolves...

No, I'm from Boston, I'm certain they must exist, I just haven't run into them, and to be fair, haven't actually put an adequate amount of effort into finding them either.  However, if Alex can run into one in a store, how come I can't bump into one at a party :(.

Of all the parties I've been to, the only magician I've ever run into was me!

Also only met one celebrity at a party - and she was a radio DJ who'd just gotten canned.

All the other celebs I met were either at work or on the street.  Tell me you can't find a Boston celeb on the street, I'll tell you you're not looking hard enough!

I do what most people call "street magic," but I don't actually often do it on the street.  I usually perform in clubs,  bars, and private parties that I attend.  Only TWICE has anyone ever seen me performing and gone "OMG You do magic!?  ME TOO!"  or anything even close to that.

Aside from a few one-trick wonders, you've met two more magicians than I have that way...  And you say Boston's such a vast magical wasteland...
