I got an interesting question about the UV deck.
Is it the blue white lions in red box, or is it rather purple back deck in red box?
Because if the back is the same as the blue white lion then maybe we could just out the blue white lion in red box ourselves.(If we have the red box)

Here's the entire description, which is still up at the site:
-
-----
-
HOLIDAY SPECIAL:  The first 100 units are $100, and the remaining 150 will be $150.
Every box is autographed on the outside on thick and durable cardboard, and each comes with a certificate that is signed and numbered by David.
The box includes Ultraviolet White Lion Decks for the first time.  These rare collector's decks are blue-backed White Lions printed on UV paper in a Rainbow Box.  Also for the first and only time, Red Series A White Lions decks are included.  They will not be available for sale outside of these Collector's Boxes.
The set also includes a Sample Stripper Deck and a Sample Marked Deck, Casino B Cards (Black and White Label), two Blue White Lions, two blue decks in Sepia boxes from David's personal stash, one Blue Split Spades Deck, and one Red Split Spades Deck.
Limit 2 per customer.
-
-----
-

Based on this description, the UV decks are blue-backed in a "rainbow" (red-backed) box.

If I had to guess, it sounds like he revived the UV500 stock for this release, or that USPC found a similar stock that costs less.

I received my DB Variety Box today! That shipping was fast!!!
I opened it up and it is beautiful! The box that it comes in is high quality and really nice looking.
The decks... are awesome!
I was looking at the 2 White Lions (Red) and trying to figure out which one was the rainbow one. But I didn't see any differences in the box. On the bottom of the boxes, it says "Limited 1st Edition Rainbow"... but they BOTH say that!

Video coming soon!

@Sabacc - When I quoted the Lions, I was just shortening the name for the entire variety box. When I said the Lions, I was referring to the White Lions (Red & Blue), the Split Spades (Lions), and just about everything else in the box. My point was that if the variety box and the Black Crowns were numbered and priced the same, I'd say the boxes would have sold out faster. Sorry for the misconception.

I think I figured out the difference between the White Lions (red) and White Lions (UV) WITHOUT opening them!
One of them has little black dot on the seal which looks like it was from a sharpie and the other one has no dot!

So anyone who received the (Red) white lions from the AIP bottle, could you please post a picture of the extra deck you got.

Also this is the same with mine. Coincidence? Perhaps. Answer to the mystery? Perhaps, guess we wont know 100% until someone opens one.

Gang, I have a question for you...

Have you ever seen the phrase "David Blaine Variety Box" abbreviated as "Lions"?  Anywhere?  At any time, present, past or future?  Except from KPop, naturally...

KPop, you're trying to compare nearly a dozen different decks of wildly varying value and rarity to a single deck release of a known value and rarity from another company.  And using abbreviations that no one else is familiar with, thus rendering the point of using an abbreviation useless.  And stating that had your suggested conditions been met, the Variety Boxes would have sold faster than the Black Crowns - when they already did...

Forgive me if this makes absolutely no sense to me.  Or at least no more sense than me telling you that if the oranges were apple-shaped, banana-colored and sold using pink Hyundai Excels and Bic pens at the cocktail operation under the baboon house for ten lemon-flavored truguts each, I'd be able to triple my depreciation AND be left holding a Royal Fizzbin.  Excelsior!  So get out there, kick the tires, light the candles and roll the pig in margarine shrapnel, OK?  Happy Renaissance and never mind the bollocks.  Baka ne!  Fierfek!  Oh, frak...  Hide the skifter!  We're still ululating blue milk under the YT-1300. Gesundheit.

That's EXACTLY how clear and understandable many of your statements are.
 ;) ??? :o :) ;D :'( ::) :( >:( :D :-X :-* :P 8) :-\

Now, on to a real topic of discussion...

Regarding the "rainbow" series White Lions, here's what we know:

There are three models known so far, all packaged in White Lions Series A Red boxes:
1) the red WLs
2) the purple WLs, likely with varying shades since it appears to be done during the transition between blue and red backs on the press, and
2) the blue WLs printed on UV stock.

Models 1) and 2) were sold with the AIP bottle.  The AIP contained 1), while the box it came with had 1) and an autographed 2).

The Variety Box was sold with 1) and 3).  One of these models is mentioned to have a black marker dot on the deck seal.  If forced to guess, I'd say it was 3), but I don't know.

Until we see 1) from the AIP set and 1) and 3) from the Variety Box all together, we won't know which ones are 1) and which remaining one is 3).

2) is easily identified, since it's signed - unless Blaine signed either of the Rainbow WLs from the Variety Box.  But that doesn't appear to be the case or someone (like MagicAddictz) would have said something.

In my comment, I wasn't trying to counteract your post, I was just trying to support the fact that the "Lions" (a.k.a. Variety Box) would have sold out faster than the Black Crowns... which they did.

P.S. It's up to me what kind of abbreviations I want to use, as long as they make sense to me and make sense to other members. It's like the creator of "LOL" using it when other people did not know what he meant. He had to explain it then to his peers for future reference, which was what I was doing when you asked. Besides what else could I possibly be talking about on this thread. If I were to talk about the single decked Lions, I would have posted that on another thread if it was relevant.

Yep that sounds right. Now the only question remaining is... Who is going to open all 3 of the said (Red) white lions decks to prove which deck is which.

*Side note*
I don't own an AIP bottle, but if it is possible for Jaime D. Grant to take a deck and shove it into a milk bottle. Whose to say he couldn't open the cellophane, put a marker dot on the seal, and reseal the deck so it looks like it was never opened.

It's like I verbified tomorrow, if you plant the steering wheel in the pomegranate concrete over rusting linoleum grapes.  Did you grok?

See, I just used an entire sentence of "abbreviations."  Abbreviations just like yours - abbreviations that only one person was privvy to the meaning of in advance.  You could spend weeks looking at that and not know what the hell it means.

"LOL" is an ACRONYM of "Laugh Out Loud".  "Lions" has little logical connection to the phrase "David Blaine Variety Box".  Some of the decks in the box have "Lions" in the name, but not ALL of them.  You might as well call them "cards", since it would be closer to accurate, if many times more vague.  LOL was agreed upon by a group of people to mean Laugh Out Loud, and that group grew to include enough people and lasted enough years that it became accepted parlance.  "Lions" you just made up yourself a few days ago and until I pointed it out, only you knew what it meant.  If I look up LOL in a dictionary of abbreviations and acronyms that was written in the past ten years, it would be there, clearly defined and understood.  If I looked up "Lions", your meaning for it would be nowhere in sight.

Your comparison of "LOL" and "Lions" is about as meaningful as a comparison of corkscrews and jellyfish.  So, NO they DO NOT make sense to OTHER MEMBERS.  Before you reinvent a language, get a firmer grasp on how it works, because right now, you're trying to "repair" English using a manual written in gobbledegook and a toolbox filled with low-yield explosives.

As far as "supporting" the fact that the Variety Box "would have sold out faster than the Black Crowns... which they did," your support is as meaningful as supporting the facts that sunlight is warm, fire is hot, water is wet and adding one to one does indeed give you two in total.  You're "supporting" plainly obvious facts.  Now, supporting Einstein's theory of relativity, or an argument counter to his theory, or a complete history of the US Playing Card Company - those would be accomplishments.  But supporting things like "humans breathe air while they're alive" doesn't exact add much to the conversation.

The gaffs are part of a separate item for sale - the photos are combining the Variety Box with the Magician's Set with Magician's Cards.  They've been out a while now - a two-pack set of red and blue Split Spades Lions, and gaff cards matched to the decks.  For an extra $10, you can get the red deck autographed by Blaine.  They're in his shop, check it out.

For me, I got the order confirmation shortly after the order. Then earlier yesterday I got the shipping confirmation (about an hour after they arrived at my house). Keep in mind, however, I'm not far from NY (where they originate from [I think]). I'm guessing that they don't send out the shipping confirmations until it's been out for a day--but like I said, I'm only guessing.

I got the order confirmation right after I placed the order. And the next day, I had my Variety Box in my hands and an email confirming it shipped.
