I know that - I was responding to the query about where Phantom found the info about no more DECK PROMOTIONS being offered this year.  No one said anything about other promos.

Extra bands is a possibility I hadn't considered - and a strong one, as well, especially after Christmas if there's unclaimed prizes left.

Jump on the Gold Arcane while there's still time.  But remember - if cash is tight, they've run that promo before, and didn't need a holiday as an excuse to do it.  It's likely to occur again.

I got an interesting question about the UV deck.
Is it the blue white lions in red box, or is it rather purple back deck in red box?
Because if the back is the same as the blue white lion then maybe we could just out the blue white lion in red box ourselves.(If we have the red box)

Based on this description, the UV decks are blue-backed in a "rainbow" (red-backed) box.

If I had to guess, it sounds like he revived the UV500 stock for this release, or that USPC found a similar stock that costs less.

52cartes reported a little while ago that this deck has an estimate release date of late February or early March 2012.

In case the conversations around here read a bit more disjointed than before, it seems that 6insider9, the employee at USPC, deleted his posts and canceled his profile.  I could be mistaken, but he may also be the guy who was posting auctions on Ebay of rare uncuts of dubious lineage.

More succinctly, I think he was caught stealing from USPC and got fired.  Don't quote me on that, I know only a rumor, nothing factual.

Yeah, that price you want to pay isn't going to happen.  But if you wanted just selected decks from the Variety Box, that's possible - there's a White Lions Series A Red on Ebay now for $54.

I recommend for greater clarity you change your Subject line to read "Variety Box" instead of "Mixed Brick".  You can have lots of different DB mixed bricks, but only one Variety Box exists...

Well, with the Black Crowns, even though they have 5k in stock, they sold for about $10 each - People would be more likely to buy at that price point. If they were equally priced and equally numbered, I'd say the Lions might sell faster.

Actually they sold 250 variety boxes not 100 and at $100-$150 they could have taken longer to sell because not everyone can afford that much, especially at this time of the year, but in the end they did sell out rather quick, but with lots of glitches imo. I also had the issue with trying to buy 2 and being told there was -1 quantity or not enough stock but when I bought just 1 it worked, did they change the limit to 1 each? Did anyone manage to get 2? I thought I had lost out but in the end I lucked out and managed to get one, even if it was for $150 plus $28 shipping. Some of those decks will bring me a few bucks on Ebay for sure.

KPop, we aren't talking about "Lions" - we're talking about a Variety Box, with White Lions, Split Spades Lions, Bee Split Spades...  Since I'm forced to guess which "Lions" you're referring to, I'll guess White Lions, in which case there are more Black Crowns than White Lions Series A Blue, or Series A Red, or both combined.  And they weren't being sold individually at Tuesday's sale, so what exactly is your point?  Please tell me you have a point...

I managed to buy two.  The only hitch I found was trying to get the "purchasable" version of the product description page to load at noon.  When it finally did, they were already going for $150 each.  Did you pay $150 for yours?  If so, it's not beyond possible that you bought the LAST one left, which is why you could only get one...

Hold off on selling them too quickly on Ebay.  The market's going to be flooded with decks and sets for a while, so the price will be lower than when they're more scarce and unavailable.  And while it's usually the case that, like a stolen car, sets like this sell for less than their individual parts in the aftermarket, it's entirely possible the opposite might be true - wait and see how the market shakes out and you might make a better profit.

If it wasn't for the fact that my girlfriend, who barely tolerates my playing card collection in our one-bedroom apartment, would likely castrate me for bringing something this big home, then I'd say yes...
 

Are you kidding me? He has a point, some people find they are more productive in a lab or on a public computer. I know when I was in highschool I got more work done in the computer lab simply because it was a structured environment. It can be setting that promotes a better work ethic. Some people find they can work anywhere and not get distracted, and I had many friends like that. I just found it easier in a computer lab.

You did something similar on the thread about the David Blaine varierty box. Ezstreet asked if anybody knew the difference between the UV red lions and the regular red lions. Just because nobody has it yet doesn't mean that nobody knows the answer!


You need to layoff. Some people are trying to push their post count but not everybody is out to do that.

OK, I've been on his case a bit, I'll grant you that.

We (not just me) knocked down his argument on using a public terminal for many reasons, not the least of which being he wants to play games and most people prefer working on their own machine under their own control with their own locally-stored files.

He's in the program he's in because he's not a slouch - it's an advanced program.  If he hasn't developed adequate work ethic by now he wouldn't be in the position he's in.

Then KPop started backing up his opinion with a strange statement about how, and I quote:

Meh, I was just giving his a warning, I'm telling your the internet is a very sly, deceptive, well-oiled machine.

This makes NO SENSE.  It's no less "deceptive" or "well-oiled" regardless of the method used to access it, and if anything, public terminals would have a greater chance of being vulnerable simply because the public has access to it and you have no idea who touched it last or where on the Internet they went with it, or what viruses or keyloggers they uploaded from a thumb drive just 'cause they thought it's be a hoot.

Many people use public terminals because they have to, not because they want to.  Even if the network is hellishly faster, they'd prefer using their own machine on that network unless it's a total hunk of junk.  He's planning to be a new laptop that in the majority of cases will be better equipped, faster, etc. than any public terminal unless that terminal was purchased around the same time as his machine or large sums of cash were spent on it.  Neither scenario is likely.

If someone is offered the chance to own a rare or semi-rare deck of playing cards, would you advise them to go borrow the one over at the coffee shop because it's free to use and you can't play with it when the shop is closed?

 OK.  I think I'm just going to work on disengaging more from what he ays, even if I happen to think it's utterly illogical and senseless.  I've wasted enough time on him and this topic.

Regarding those White Lions decks and EZStreet (now Magic Addictz), there was no offense meant.  I don't know of anyone here that works for either USPC or David Blaine at present and he was talking about a rare, never-before-released deck that no one's actually seen.  It's like asking me about how pretty the storage facilities are in the US Federal Reserve Bank building in downtown Manhattan, despite that I've never been less than several hundred feet from them and they're a few floors underground under heavy guard.  The comment was silly and light-hearted - look below:
