I didnt find the handling all that bad honestly. I heard that many people did, but they didnt give me much trouble. I do agree that others out there may handle better, but I didnt think this deck was as bad as everybody said

Well, for a start I would look at The Fantastique Deck by Dan & Dave. They are only selling so many. They haven't sold out yet, but I'm sure they will sometime soon. From the pictures I've seen it looks like a beautiful deck.

If I think of any other good decks I'll let you know  :)

Oh and Happy Birthday by the way!!

Alrighty then haha, I guess no contests or whatnot from t11

I guess I'll just count myself as a lucky guy!

I'm doubting they will simply give them to the employees. The fact that they mentioned a surplus of this rare deck sort of leads into the question of what will they do with them. If they were to simply give them to the employees I doubt they would have mentioned they had extra in the email.

Also something to keep in mind. They mention in the email that 144 made it through production before the complication; HOWEVER, in the pre-release the sold 111...

This leaves them with 33 on hand. So I'm not sure what they plan to do with the extras. I would keep and eye out for contests, giveaways, ect... that theory 11 has in the future, because who knows when one of those extra 33 will pop up!

The do mention that the plan was to have all the backs the same, but they had to make changes following complications.

"Our original intention was to keep the gold backs for ALL of the Monarchs, but due to complications during the printing process, only 144 made it through."

You are acting as if they had this planned all along and they were lying the whole time. From the email I received it sounded as if the plan was for them to all be the same as the mentioned to you, but then they had to change that. I understand that this can be upsetting to those who decided to wait for the public release, but this stuff happens in production and business all the time. It isn't that T11 had this up their sleeve the whole time.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: How should I store my cards?

Thats not exactly what I was talking about, but those are snazzy looking!

I'm thinking more of a storage unit, similar to a cabinet within a house. Just an idea I'm toying with and I thought throwing it out there might a good idea.

Wow! firstly, all of those collections/cases people have showcased are awesome!

I was thinking about building a custom case (similar to a cabinet) to store my cards in. The benefit of this is that I could pick the dimensions for the shelving and the overall size of the cabinet. I think this would make for the best storage for my cards, while also keeping them in a nice order. This is still a rough idea in my head. Since I don't often do projects such as this I still need to work out the plans and whatnot. Has anybody else ever tackled a project like this? If so any tips or trick I should keep in mind?

Thanks!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Brick Boxes
« on: November 02, 2011, 10:07:21 PM »
Oh those pictures are great!! I really like the bee box!

I was thinking about the idea of custom brick boxes for decks. It would obviously cost the card companies more to make those for their decks, but I'm a big fan of them. If a store (Theory 11, Aether Cards, Dan & Dave, etc.) were to offer custom brick boxes similar to the one the S&M V6s came in for a little more would you be inclined to that brick with a custom box over a brick with a plain white box? examples

A CUSTOM BRICK BOX LIKE THIS

OR

A PLAIN WHITE BRICK BOX

I'm not saying that companies should do this. It was just an idea I had, since I appreciated the S&M V6 box so much, and I was just wondering what others thought of this? Let me know!

Thanks everybody and sorry about the long post

Tarot cards were originally made to be trump cards for card games, and were used with normal playing cards. It wasn't until many years later they became used for "fortune telling" and then were slowly separated from playing cards.

Oh wow!

Thats kind of surprising to me... I thought the brick design for the v6s was amazing! it really added to the deck (well not the deck, but the quantity... if you know what I mean haha). I would really like to see more companies making custom brick boxes in the future! That would be really neat and would add a lot to the design of the deck (or 12 haha).

Thanks for the help!

Just out of curiosity which decks come with custom brick boxes? I have a brick of the V6 so I know those ones do, but I'm not sure which others do.

Russell mentioned that we would be getting dice even if we didnt meet the goal!

I agree, The Seasons decks are beautiful!! Not sure if they are my favorite, but they are absolutely stunning!

I'll have to wait and see how the Monarchs look! haha

1823
Yeah I was lucky to snag one deck from the early release!! I'm looking forward to "previewing" it when it comes in the mail. From the preview shots it looks like it will be a beautiful deck (if not the best deck to be released this season). If it turns out to be as great as I expect I'll probably pick up a brick.

Since it isn't a limited run deck I don't think many people will pay as much attention to it as the mana deck, blue crown v.2 decks, seasons deck, vortex deck, etc... I don't know if y'all are thinking the same thing, but thats the vibe I have been getting. haha

Cheers!

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE RESULTS OF THE POLL ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE VOTED!

Thanks everybody and happy voting!  :D
