So, I was wondering what your favourite kind of technique is to shoot a card out of the deck. I have two that I use

http://youtu.be/wyjIjdTidgA which is a hot shot card tutorial. I use this whenever I do the gun trick

And the top shot which dynamo tends to do a lot.

What techniques do you guys use? Do you have any different ways of shooting the card out of deck?

I love the move "pop tard".

The angles are a bit tricky, but it's super easy and looks pretty cool.

The Benzais spin out is a pretty great one too.

Ah yes the benzais spin out is sweeeeet .. Where have I seen it before? I think maybe one of  bill malone's performances .. N didn't daniel madison use that on penn&teller too for his 4 ace card production?

EDIT: It wasn't DM .. I can't remember where else

Not a big fan of poptard, mainly because of all the springing that has to be done

I use the hotshot because it was the one of the first cuts I learned and it has just become so natural and reliable. I have played around with a few variations on the hotshot, because if I want to teach it to someone they usually have issues with the deck starting between their index and middle finger, but they just don't feel as solid in my hand.

When I first started learning it, I found it comfortable holding it in that position between the index and middle finger. I remember the first few times I did it, the card would never shoot out right. Is end up just placing the card on top of the deck instead cos I just couldn't get that spring. Now I hotshot like a pro (well, kinda)
