I like the over sized suit index.  It kind of makes up for the loss of the suit indicator.

Jamm - You really need to make me believe the hour glass in on the bottom of the spider.  I can't tell.  Maybe if you put the spider in the upper left corner fighting the fly at the center at a diagonal that would work better.  If the the red hour glass shows up in the fan that would be a plus.  Maybe go 3-D.  Randy knows 3-D.  Maybe, the Widow is fighting the fly through the web.

@firshaper - Nice improvement on the tuck.  Just remember the top of the box is important.  Most people store decks with only the tops exposed.  Nice to see you have a QR code on the bottom of the deck.  I see your missing something on your top flaps.  What do you want them to see when they first open the deck.  Tell a story.  The flaps should be your symbol of your deck.

I think "1-way" backs are fine. I like breaking the rules, but they have to be subtle.  If the one wayness is more to the center, it is easier to conceal.  This one edges out to the corners.  I would suggest changing it.  I guess as a rule a  "1-way" back should not expose itself when you are holding lets say 5 cards.  In this case, you would probably see it with the Joker and King if your opponent is right handed.

@Don - Just wondering if you got the cards?  By the way, you can't play solitaire with these cards.   I have tried. It does not work. ??? These are for games that require a group of players  like Texas Hold'em, Rummy, Jin, ect.   I tried to stay as close as possible to the 808 font in the indices.  It was the theme for that deck.  In the next deck, you can play solitaire.  It will be the traditional red and black indices, but with a twist.  The suits will be bubbled.  I know we talked about that.   :-[   Lets just say I know I can fit 2 or 3 more cards in a person's hand using this current theme of the suit indicator being both the rank and suit of the card at the same time.

Here is some card porn with a pretty nice fan of the back done by a friend.

I have 2 (Ace Level:) pledge slots open since Sunday at 10pm CST.  Would like to see these disappear.

Interesting deck.  She should make all the index suits the same size.  I notice she is using the suit indicator for her courts for her suit index.

@Rob - The minimalist deck is here to stay.  I think you can even call it a category.   I heard something about fanboys...

Nice minimal back of card.  Foil and emboss one element on your tuck box is my only suggestion.  Seems like the thing to do today...

put in an early bird pledge just for the heck of it.  Once we see more, it could be interesting :)

You might have to wait a bit.

He says, "With Every 1,000 pledged, we will release extra pictures of playing card designs. (This adds excitement....)"

I'm excited are you excited?

i still think he needs to put a number or roman numeral for his Tarot Cards.  Card collectors don't know the order of the Major Arcana. They usually put it in the Top Middle.  Be different and put them in the Top Right and visa versa like playing cards...

@Don you won a free deck.  I'll PM for your address.

Received another package today from Makeplayingcards.com

I ordered 100 decks and they gave me 101. I just want to stress have other ppl check your cards.  I didn't see that mistakes till early August and I know I must have looked at that 10oS a hundred time and didn't see it.  I was in a timeline for the 52+J convention. I wanted to make 20 demo decks.  It takes 15 days for MPC to ship out the cards and getting quick changes from Vivian is like pulling teeth also the back of card was "1-way" :bosswalk:.  I figured hell if your going to screw up on a number card the best card is the 10 card.  More pips will just = 10. Lets get the decks and see if anyone says anything...

I got a package today.  I just wanted to see an uncut sheet from Makeplayingcards.com  I found out they go with a 11 X 5 uncut for 55 cards.  So, EPCC and LPCC go with a 9 X 6 for 54 cards, and the holy grail of playing cards USPCC goes with a 8 x 7 uncut sheet for 56 cards.

It seems they make cardboard circles and tape on the ends for a cap.   :o

Playing Card Plethora / Re: What's the consensus on decks with 5+ suits?
« on: January 19, 2015, 08:04:21 PM »
@Don - I don't know.  I agree the Heart/Diamond and Club/Spade do have an association.  Most of the time the Club/Spade is black.  A even number of suits would make more sense to me.  What would be more exciting is making a 9 suit deck.  Each of the 8 suits having a partner like Hearts/Diamond and the 9th suit being a Trump golden suit.  If you added 2 more decks that would be close to the amount of cards for a reshuffler in  Las Vegas. Then you could have a slot a machine for 3 symbols.  Lets just say 3 golden Towers is rare.  The Towers are worth 10, but 3 golden towers is special. You need to gets to 31 in the game, but 3 golden Towers is like having a Spanish 21 BlackJack.

@fireshaper - I think that table might be wrong.  Check your source.  The club and spade should be switched.  Just remember (A club for beating people became a club) Thats how I remember...

I'm sure people are probably saying it all over of the place they have at UC and I tend to agree that the indices are a little close to the bead border, for me most noticeable on the number cards. Pushed out just a touch would be great. The bead border there is really fantastic on these. I think it adds a lot. Good things, good things.

Nice suggestion.  I'm pretty sure he is going to play it safe and change it to 2 suit colors.  Now, Don can play solitaire again...

73
@enyspacecaptain - I still think your Spades are a little to close to the rank of the card in your indices.   Either smooth your Spade out or move everything a bit lower...

74
Cards were so much better back then.

75
@Emmanuel - You have to try to come to the next 52+ Joker convention. I know you would be a big hit.  I would like to give you a deck of my cards.  I'll be giving one to Don and Lee.  And I'll buy 2 decks of your Delicious if you show up...
