I think it should be noted that the suits on the indices look AWFUL. There is no way in hell you could play a game with this deck. Basically pointless if you plan to use it for anything.
Agreed. I think this deck should just ditch the barbed wire. Suits would be a lot clearer.

I am on the fence on this deck. Not a huge fan of the tuck, the backs seem a bit busy also.
I like the court cards but the barbed wire is a tad overdone.
I agree with you. I think the artwork is very nice on some of the cards but the barbed wire ruins the whole thing. Still, if the price is right, I can see myself buying these.

It's such a shame because I love this deck and would definitely back it but the price puts me off hugely. Anyway, I wish you good luck with the project - I hope you get funded!

Am I the only one not impressed with these? The bottles as a whole, not just this particular one. I just don't see the draw to investing in one. Now, this IS coming from a bearded guy with a lot of card decks that will never be opened, but I'm human and allowed a bit of hypocrisy.
I (sort of) agree with you. I think they are quite a nice novelty but should be $30 at most, not the insane prices some of them have been going for. Might be an idea to break open the bottle if you just wanted the deck, but what's the point - they're cheaper on eBay.

Anything Uusi (Blue blood, bohemias Optiks, BB redux and pagans are what they're released to this point in time)
Encarded (they're all great but I think only the aurums and decos can be got for <$15)
Ellusionist: Love the artifice purples
Theory11: Monarches, medallions and Black JAQKs all the way
Thanks. I've been thinking about getting some artifice for some time now, as well as the BB Redux. Uusi's designs are awesome.

You're right, I do, and I'm not the only staffer who does - so there's no need to point things out to me like this...  :))
Sorry, I wasn't trying to say you're the only admin who does, you're just the first I thought of off the top of my head.

Hello guys,
I'm pretty new to cardistry and a week ago I bought an Bicycle Black Scorpion Deck. At the beginning it was pretty slippery but now it isn't anymore like this, when you hold it in your hands it feels a little bit sticky and the cards doesn't slip anymore that good. What can I do to get the cards again like they were at the beginning?
PS: Sorry for my bad english:)
Shouldn't this be in playing card plethora?  ;)

Welcome to the discourse by the way  :D

Such a shame this isn't a full deck. I would definitely buy it, the artwork looks awesome.  :(

This deck really confuses me. If I'm honest, $15 per deck for card games no-one has ever heard of seems a bit steep to me. Who is it that's printing them? I'm assuming it's not USPCC on the fact that you haven't listed the printer.

Go on eBay and get yourself some Bee Watermelon decks

In Great Britain?  For under $16/£10 with shipping?
$16 not including shipping (not all inclusive :P)

Sorry to bump an old topic but I'm missing 13 (including registered user  :P )

I only have one badge (<3 u) which I technically shouldn't even have... (I've only given out 5 *good poster* things)

I'm so confused.  ???

Don't be.  Due to glitches it was causing in the system, Alex got rid of badges months ago.

Now you're not missing ANY badges 'cause there ain't no more stinkin' badges...
Thanks for clearing that up!

Hey AtomSmash!

Check this thread out: http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/decks-with-complete-customisation/
It's a bit long but there are a few good ones on there.

If you have the time I'd recommend checking out kickstarter - alot of good decks started there for ~$10 USD + shipping a deck.
Regarding your price limit, do you mean readily available at <$15? The reason I ask is because recently on this board a guy sold red bohemias for $7, which is less than your limit but usually red bohemias would be more than your limit.
If you can get your hands on Uusi's cards I don't think you'd be disappointed. Encarded's cards also look amazing. And Zenneth Kwok has a small range of decks for sale with free wolrdwide shipping - you can get a Fatboy eat all day V2 for $10.90.

I personally like the Medallions. But if I really had to choose between them and the Monarchs, I think I'd take the monarchs. The recent T11 black JAQKs were less than $15 when released and are a great deck, one of my favourites. Unfortunately they were a limited release from T11 and their site doesn't sell them any more. Good news though I think JP Playing Cards is going to stock them... I might be getting mixed up with the black legends V2 though.
Thanks! I do mean decks that can be found <$15 that can also be found higher, as well as decks that are always lower.  :D

Here's a nice clean (IMO, flawless) move by my favourite British magician.
The move is pretty simple, but I love the presentation of it. Enjoy :)

From recent releases, CARC/EPCC's Exquisite deck is my favourite by far, because of the superior handling (if you like stiff cards) and durability (they outlast USPCC decks by far -- it's not even close!).

Shipping from the USA to the UK is a killer though... and so unless I'm buying in bulk, I prefer to order from JP Playing Cards (works out MUCH cheaper than buying a single deck from the states).
Thanks! Do you know if they are full custom?

The Exquisite decks have standard courts. The thing about them is that one end of the pips are bold and the other end isn't, so it's one sided (like the Legends). Here's a link to a review by VJose32 on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO4yS4fuBTY

My favorite under $15 would definitely be the Aurum "Sovereign" Edition by Encarded. Theory11 also has a lot of really awesome decks for $6.95 or less, such as the Sentinels, Artisans, and Monarchs.
Thanks! Aurum looks awesome but if I have to pay more for shipping than I do for a deck then it's usually a no go for me  :P

Oops, sorry. I didn't know shipping international would cost that much.  :-\

JP Playing Cards (http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/) has them for 10.99 pounds, which is a little more than you're willing pay for, excluding shipping. Darn.

Eh, 99p extra isn't too much. Thank-you! I'm going to buy a deck of these for sure.

Honestly, theory11's Monarchs are a fantastic pack of cards for the money, as are Ellusionist's Madison Rounders. You can never go wrong with plain old Bikes, Tallys or Bees, either.

Thanks :)
What do you think of the medallions?

That's going to be a pretty long list AtomSmash, $16.00 Per deck is pretty healthy if your not going too far back into out of print decks. I do admire you wrangling in your spending, probably one of the hardest collecting things to get a hold of.

Sorry, phrased the question wrong :)

What are peoples favourite decks for under $15?

Playing Card Plethora / Best decks of cards under $15
« on: January 02, 2014, 01:21:50 PM »
Hi guys!

I'm trying to limit the amount I spend on playing cards for the sake of my bank account and I've decided to buy 1-2 decks a month instead of the 15 a month I was buying last year.

I'm spending (at most) £10.00 on each deck which equates to about $16.

So which decks do you recommend what are your favourite decks on that budget ($16 per deck)?

Thanks  :D
