Leontiene Vink & Marvin Brandt... 2 names you most likely don't know. I happen to stop by Bicycle's Official Facebook page, and came across a post made by Marvin about his girlfriend...

So, I followed the link... and my heart broke

"Im Marvin 23 years old and live in the Netherlands.

This is our story and why im collecting for my girlfriend.

My girlfriend is Leontiene and she is 22 years old.

We have a good relationship for 3 years now and live together for over a year.

But a half year ago we had to face with the worst news we could imagine.

She was diagnost with a very rare and agressive form of cancer.

She had a tumor in her head with the size of a egg.

After 4 times a chemotherapy that didnt effect the cancer and a 16 hour surgery the doctors removed the tumor out of her head.

They had to lay open her whole face to get to the tumor and remove it.

Now she is on a 6 week radiotherapy every day for 20 minutes.

You can imagine the last half year was a living hell for her.

With a lot of pain and feeling miserable every day.

I support her wherever i can and cheer her up if i notice she feels down.

On top of all this she lost her fertility by chemotherapy.

We have to pay everything from 1 salary now and have big trouble keeping our heads up. In this hard time i want to give her a smile and the way to do this is to extend her bicycle collection playing cards.

She collects design playing cards from the brand Bicycle.

I know she wants 2 deck playing cards for her collection really bad!

Unfortunately there very expensive and we dont have the money for it.

Hoped through this way i could make her very happy by manage to get those 2 decks.

Marvin has started a web campaign to try to get the love of his life a couple of decks of cards that she wanted.

I went back to the post on the Bicycle page and clicked on his name, I then went and looked at his GF's page (both are open to the public)

This one hits pretty close to home for me. I watched as my mother battled cancer for a year. She lost the battle when I was eleven.

I have sent a message to Marvin through FB to see what 2 decks they were trying to raise money for. I am more then happy to send them, if I have them available.

I just wanted to share this story with the community.

Well I went through my suitcase... I wish I had an inventory but at this point I was just scrounging around for a care package that would be worth receiving. I'll be sending:

I'm going to put together a signed under cellophane deck for her, but I have no idea what to sign it with (my signature seems silly, and isn't worth anything).

Dear everyone!

I want to thank you all a 10.000 times.
I am pleased to see so many people thinking of her.
You will have no idea how happy she will gonna be!

Last 2 days were very heavy for her.
She is very ill at the moment and has a lot of pain! Although she is fighter, she is struggling with the pain the past few days.
Yesterday my hearts just broke when i suddenly heared her cry.
I grabbed her and holded and hugged her.
She told me the pain of the radiation therapy was indescribable.
She cant remember how living is without pain.
Even 5 morfine patches cant stop the pain in her mouth.
The worst thing for me is to see her with that kind of pain without there is anything i can do.
It just rips my heart apart.

I hoped there might be someone who could help me.
But what i found were different people who all should earn a statue!
Jay i want to thank you specially because without you this would never be possible.

I will keep posting her status.

I don't know how I missed these posts, but count CCC in also. I know how it is like to see a family member suffer without being able to help them. I wish you two all the best.

Hi everyone!

This morning we received the 2 pirate decks sended by max en rocio!
As i promised here are some photo`s!
She is very gratefull for this.
Not only for the decks but also for the drawing!

She still has a lot of pain, but this cheered her up really!
It`s good to see she is having a better day then the last few ones.

She is not in for the computer on the moment but she will thank you personal.
