As soon as I posted I went and looked and watched that. I don't really like his review I don't know if that's just me but I don't care for it at all.

Yeah, I just watched too.
His review is okay. Doesn't help much in the info.
But I think it's true that the infinity or arcane is better looking than this deck.
However, I'm planning to get one too, maybe around christmas.

Well that's cool. And he doesn't go through the quality of the deck. I think this is a very simple clean and elegant deck not fancy or anything.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

I opened and played with my pack of Limiteds.  They handle well, on par with Artifice and Infinity; same performance coating, probably the same stock as well.  In fact, they actually borrow a significant design element from the Artifice deck - they have the same typeface for the index and the same size index pip, though in the more traditional style.  The entire deck is standard Bicycle faces and pips, but the colors are deep red and light gray.  The only black in the whole deck is on the back and in the face cards.

Artifice decks are elegant, yes, but the Limited deck is elegant and SIMPLE - like Scandinavian-furniture elegant and simple, with a dash of modern.  Even the Joker design is as simple as it comes - a lowercase "j" held up with puppet strings.  If you were doing a black tie event (or an Ikea holiday party!), Limited would be a very classy deck to perform with, possibly my first choice were I in that position.  The only drawback is that you really want to work close-up with this deck - the pale grays can't possibly be easy to read at a distance.

Thanks for the review, hmm... I'm still iffy about it though. I might get more if they have a like a special deal, for now $150 ain't doing it. I'm surprised they haven't sold out yet.

Sold out? I don't think 3,000 people made orders over $150 since November 22nd

I agree with EZ - and you're getting the LTD mixed up with the Red Artifice in terms of released amount.  The LTD is a 5,000-deck run and all 5,000 are up for grabs in the holiday giveaway.  I seriously doubt they'll give away all 5,000 before the New Year, so yes, they'll have some left for other premium giveaways.  Just not likely to be available as a "buy $X and get this free" kind of premium - more likely to be a contest prize or something similar.

Yeah, I think it will be a contest, maybe like the gold wednesday.

Thanks for the review!

I was going back and forth about purchasing enough to get the deck. But i got lucky in another way...

I happened upon a red bracelet and I won a brick of LTD's so i will be finding out firsthand how they are soon enough!

Just check the product description on E's site.
http://www.ellusionist.com/ltd-limited-playing-cards.html

There's no mention of a limit of only 3,000 being given for the holiday special.

It's also not mentioned here, on the free gift list.
http://www.ellusionist.com/freegift/step/?___store=default

They have 5K decks, they're giving away as many as they can to people who qualify, and whatever's left, if any, will be made available only for contests and the like - not as a premium free gift for buying a certain amount of merchandise.
