After I recieved my variety box V4 I noticed several differences between the website and what I recieved.  1st the picture on the website has an Aladdin old smooth (national deck) pictured...I recieved just a regular Aladdin deck. 2nd I recieved a new version studs instead of the old stud as pictured ( I know it has reprinted beside the deck in the deck list). 3rd I recieved a bee CARC smith back instead of the bee watermelon as pictured. They have now changed the deck listings to include the smith back (even though the bee watermelon is still shown in the photos).  I'm not totally unhappy with my purchase...still got the Mirrors V3 and the IAOCP but does anyone else think this was a little misleading?

Also did anyone actually recieve what was shown on the website?

If forced to guess, I'd say they've been tweaking the deck list as some limited/rare decks went out of stock.  If you at least got the rare ones, like Octopus and Mirror v3, then I wouldn't sweat it too much.  They should update the photo, yes, but if the list was accurate at the time you bought them, there's not much you can complain about.  Contact customer service and make an inquiry; find out why your decks were not as pictured.

Don't you think all of the variety boxes would be made BEFORE they even sell them.

I agree with the above, the boxes should be made or at least stocked before they go on sale. They did say the Studs are reprints (which sucks because these cost $3 a deck at any Walgreens), but the difference between a CARC deck and the RJRTC's are huge. RJRTC go for $10-15 a deck I believe, and handle completely differently. Also, the regular Aladdin deck is more or less garbage.

Not cool to do this to a customer. I would contact their customer support if this irks you too much.

I would post some pics but I don't have access to my digital camera at the moment...To be quite honest they wouldn't be any different from the pictures already posted. I don't think I'm gonna open these until maybe I can acquire a 2nd deck.

Then just post a HIGH RES photo with GOOD CONTRAST and we can do the search for you.

BTW, you probably already know this from 52cartes, but I confirmed it personally via email.  The Tungstene decks "will be available next week," according to Syd in D&D Customer Service.

I tried, but the only picture that's got high enough quality, and the right angle, is the Queen of Spades. That QR code reads "La Jalousie est un sentiment qui derape", which means "Jealousy is a feeling that goes wrong" in French.
It looks like the other court cards all have a different QR code, so it'd be great to see some better quality photos so I could scan those codes.

So all those QR codes are sentimental sentences in French?  Oui?  Non?  Seems like a waste of QR codes to me, when simply printing the phrases on the card would be less labor for all involved.

I think it's way cool!! It probably was easier to do QR codes. You just go online and they have qr code generators that take 10 seconds to make one. Plus they just placed the codes right in the middle of the court cards. With actual text they would have to make it look nice, line it up, size it, and whatnot.

I like it and I think it was an interesting design, but that's just my opinion.

I totally agree. I think the QR codes give it a nice 'hidden' element, if you will. And I just really like the design in general. Especially the one-colour court cards!

Given the choice between an elegantly-printed phrase and a printed digital code, I'd take the phrase.  I'm as high-tech as the next guy, but I still use dip-ink fountain pens, parchment and wax seals.  It does, however, look like the whole deck is themed for these QR codes.

Yeah, I guess it just depends on the deck. For an arcane deck I would want to see elegantly-printed text but this deck (like you said) calls for the qr code. This is the first I've seen of a deck like this and that partially why I'm so fond of it.

Exactly. It all depends on the deck. I really think this suits the QR code design, and it's definitely something new when it comes to decks of cards.

Have you contacted customer service yet?  I'd be interested in hearing how this situation shakes out.
