Just saw this on eBay, and it looks like a neat item.  Playing card salesman's kit with samples.  Not what I collect, but I thought someone her might be interested.

Never heard of the "General Card Company" of Chicago before.  They look like the kind of inexpensive bridge decks I used to see in stationery stores a lot as a child.

This company was around Chicago from the mid-30's till WWII years. They produced these sample kits and sent their salesmen around door-to-door with order sheets to sell decks to households. Who were their salesmen? Generally neighbourhood teenagers, housewifes, etc. Have seen many over the years but less most recently. Illhawkeye of the 52+J club knows a lot about them.

Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Thanks for the heads up! I bought it.

Congrats!
I was the other bidder btw...
But ebay screwed me up about some bidding system, saying i can't bid anymore as i am already the highest bidder in one other auction. (still checking with ebay about this).

Anyway really nice find in my opinion.  :D

That is a great deal. PurpleIce seems to have gotten screwed by an ever more complex and difficult to deal with eBay.Gotten to hate them.
