  • Kickstarter:
Wow. That preview is absolutely horrible.

The purpose of a teaser is to give you a glimpse of what the deck's all about. A corner of a card here, a snip of the tuck there. Just taking a frontal shot and then completely blurring it out makes it seem like the designer's timid about the design, or afraid that the design itself isn't interesting enough to get people intrigued through previews alone.

The "Industry first" thing seems to be the selling point. But as it is, I'm not too excited.

Jay, I think you're a great guy, but I have to agree with MrM - not a good teaser.  This could just as easily be a photo of a box of cereal or a candy bar.  But not a car.  :))

Might be a great teaser to people who likes all things red.  :P

A teaser should probably do 2 things. One, is to get people's attention and log in/make purchases when it launches. Two, is to create such publicity or hype that people are spreading the word around.

Agree that it does not get me excited, but i guess the "Industry First" tagline gets me curious enough to take notice and check it out.
I guess it has served part of its purpose.

That looks like it to me, but what's the "Industry first" part of the equation?
Yes, I know that we'll find out tonight, but I don't have that much patience!!

For the first time ever…

Do a true side by side comparison with the exact same deck… from 2 different printing companies.

Fans, dribbles, springs, sleights, handling…  which one will you like best?

I'm not really liking the court cards though. The body lacks detail and i wonder is it going to be greyscale background for all including hearts and diamonds?

If you check the artwork below for the red back, it will probably look something like that for the red-suited cards.  You should check out his Design/Dev topic for this deck, it's pretty extensive and shows the deck's evolution.

That's a pretty interesting concept. Should make for some pretty interesting reviews on the back side. I'm in for the set.

I also snagged an early bird.

While the preview wasn't good, the company comparison idea and the deck are awesome!

Looks like this project is a first in more ways than one -- it's also the first time that LPCC are offering their 'classic finish' for a project.

the following text is from the LPCC facebook page:

For Christian’s Interlace deck, we wanted to contribute something special. Legends Playing Card Co. decided to officially launch its new Classic card stock with the Interlace decks. Unlike our sturdy Diamond Finish, Classic Finish has similar flex and feel to Bicycle stock. When paired with LPCC’s coating and Diamond Cut features, it’s buttery smooth from edge to edge. It’s our take on tradition.

Then there’s our tuck case that any vintage card collector will appreciate. Taking cues from the ‘80s, we took on the challenge of bringing back the ideal case for a deck of cards. A longer tongue flap prevents the corners of the box from tearing when opening and closing. Coupled with a perforated seal to open a deck cleanly, these are just some of the innovative features we’ve been implementing for our customers.

We’d love to hear what you think of the cards when you get them, and how they compare to the Interlace decks by USPCC. Please contact us on www.LegendsPlayingCards.com. Thanks for the letting us share the stage with Bicycle, Christian!

I'll be backing the project for a brick of the Legends version :)
With this signature I'm following the example set by Fes: There is only ONE letter L in my display name. "Holly" is a female name... and I'm a bearded guy who's into weightlifting. There's nothing feminine about me brother!

I really like the look of this deck, not sure what's up with having 2 printers though? But I can only give a thumbs up for the Watsky video at the bottom of the page!

Welcome Daniel. The mod will merge or delete this for you at some point.
When you get a chance, head over to the introduce yourself thread. You can tell us a bit about yourself, and how you found us.
