Design & Development / Feedback on card back?
« on: March 16, 2017, 11:39:23 AM »
So far this is what I have going for me. Any suggestions? Am I on the right track? I do understand that its hard to say weather or not a deck will be successful solely based on the back of the card, but does this current design look appealing?

Introduce Yourself / Hello!
« on: March 16, 2017, 10:44:59 AM »
Hello everyone.

I have been collecting cards for quite a while, but I was never super into it. Everything I was at the store and I saw a cool deck of cards I would pick it up. Slowly my collection grew, but I very quickly ran out of decks to buy at the store because I had them all. As I got a little older I started looking on various websites to buy more and more. Eventually I came to the stage that I believe a lot of people here have been to, where they want to create their own deck of cards. Thats exactly where I am right now. I had been doing research on the processes, kickstarter funded decks, shipping fulfillment centers, the whole 9 yards. Through my research and chatting with other people who had been successful at my goal, I came across this forum. After a quick look around I realized it would not be a waste of time to create an account and get to know people here.

Design & Development / Wholesale?
« on: March 16, 2017, 10:39:02 AM »
I have been collecting cards for a number of years now and I was looking into creating my own deck of playing cards. But we all know that it costs quite a bit of $$$ to have a deck bicycle branded or even printed by the USPCC, then add shipping costs in there and the price just skyrockets. I have seen quite a few people recently on kickstarter who have been able to produce their decks with a funding goal of only $5,000-6,000 and I was wondering how they were able to pull this off? I had heard rumors of people on kickstarter that have a large wholesale following and that way they were able to sell the rest of their decks and make a profit at the end and therefor they have a low funding goal. Does anybody know more details about how the process works and could anyone offer me some insight? How does one find a retailer to sell to?

I'm wanting to create my own deck, but I'm still in the research stage. After seeing how expensive it is to have a deck printed and seeing all the projects that did not reach their desired goals on kickstarter, I want to  do anything and everything I can to have an advantage to get my project funded. Any other advice will be well appreciated too.
