Hi everyone!

After a long process, I'm ready to launch my Cocktail Hour Playing Cards on Kickstarter. The launch date will be Wednesday, May 18 at 12 p.m. EDT.

This forum has been invaluable with feedback to help shape this deck to where it is today. And I can't wait to share a preview link of the project later this week.

(I'll admit that I was not so excited about showing my mug in the video, but I think it's alright, ha!)

I'm looking forward to the launch and not just because I consulted on it. I gave you my services free of charge because I believed in the design and wanted it to become the best possible deck you could make from it - and I think you've succeeded. You should be very proud of the end result and I think you'll find backers with very little difficulty!

I think the campaign page looks great, shows your personality I think. The deck stands on it's own and you've managed to make the campaign page warm and inviting while letting us know all the important bits. The pledge tiers are also well laid out in my opinion. Good stuff, LAUNCH IT NAO! hahaha

I like this deck but it's a little pricey at $15. If I can get the 2 for $20 EB deal, I'll be in. But if not, I'll probably wait to see if the stretch goals are unlocked.

@PrincessTrouble! I heard some similar feedback on the other forum. My goal is set a little lower without some bells and whistles to ensure that it gets made! But I'm pretty confident that at least one – if not both – of the stretch goals will be met (I'm marketing like crazy). However, I'm going to take another look at my budget and see if there's a little number crunching I can do.

And by the way. Each card is associated with a classic cocktail. I'm introducing a court card each day leading up to the launch with their respective drink, over on my Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/s.ferone (It does happen to be #worldcocktailday today.)

On a per-deck basis, if you're buying more than one, it rapidly gets more affordable. For any deck project, from the creator's perspective, it's the one- and two-deck orders that end up costing the most money with shipping costs, so nowadays, $15 for a single deck is more like the median or the average than the high end.

You make a very good point Don, if a person takes a good hard look at the numbers and the last increase in shipping it's pretty easy to see with just rough numbers how it's hard to get away with going too low on single and doubles. I'll be going on for at least half a brick, that's my min on this one. I do like the larger tier offerings so not quite sure where I'll land on this one. I'm just not going through many decks this year.

Haha, I really like the Pomegranate image on your instagram page Sarah. Whack Whack Whack indeed! Also quite the charming Moo under the moon down the page a bit. Great stuff.

Great hearing your feedback Don and Fes. It's tricky to estimate budgets going into this as a first time creator. Researching successful projects, and the not-so successful ones, the biggest take away for me was how common it was to underestimate.

However, with that said, (and I know this only a small change), but I will be making the Single Deck Reward – $14.

I plan on adding a deck chart that will hopefully show that the price per deck drops as you add more. While I wanted to have the add-on option available for those that want to customize their pledges, it will be more favorable to get decks through the reward tiers! I will try to post that later today!

ALSO * * * REWARD LEVEL CHANGE for Signed Collector's Edition

I'm sorry for this last minute change, but I will be revising the collector's edition to be the following:

• 1 signed deck enclosed in a Carat Card Case
• 1 regular deck (to open!)
• Small thank you art gift surprise.

If you had your heart set on getting a signed uncut sheet, please reach out during the campaign and we'll work something out. Regular uncut sheets are still available as add-ons.

Hey! Quick update for international backers. I just had a request about the 3 deck tier shipping cost.

Now, 3 decks will not have tracking for better pricing for international backers. Here's a quick recap of the first few tiers:

US
1 deck = $14
2 decks = $25
3 decks = $35

International
1 deck = $15
2 decks = $28
3 decks = $41

Thanks Don! I can't tell you how excited I am to make these cards

And while we had a bumpy ride at the end, we still managed to be only ~ $400 away from copper foil.

FYI – I'm using Backerkit to manage pledges and set up PreOrders. I'll be promoting that link in a couple weeks everywhere. I also have something else cookin' that could help us cross the Stretch Goal line. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

It's not over til I place that order.
