Regardless of the competition outcome, I'm just happy to have been pointed to this corner of the web, where there's so much knowledge and passion for playing cards. I hope to start on a new deck soon and look forward to many more conversations about cards

I was thinking about how many decks have 2 colour versions (or more)... and here's what I've come up with as a 'second deck' back and box design for Nine Lives Playing Cards... This is mostly just me playing around when I should be doing other work, but always happy to hear your input

The blue box and back design picks up colours from the spades and hearts, whereas the green has more in common with the Jokers, Clubs and Diamonds...

It's been a while since I posted here ...upcoming exhibition has kept me busy painting and drawing (away from computer)

I wanted to post actual dates, special deals and all the other exciting bits and bobs to do with winning the 2nd Annual PCF Deck Design Competition.

Hi all

I do want to apologize for my lapse in activity on this fabulous forum ... Rather than being chomped up by some intergalactic web monster, I've been deep in a sea of boxes moving house ...    I still have a couple of frantic weeks ahead of me with an exhibition opening in mid December - but, after all the unpacking I am glad to be back and look forward to finding more time to meet and greet you all here

Exciting News - Nine Lives Playing Cards (Poker size) 
Thanks to the superb liaising work of Don, things are moving along and the artwork is now at the first stage of pre-print checking with EPCC. I have included low-res previews with the uncut sheet and tuckbox below. It truly is so exciting to see this little deck moving closer to reality and I can't wait to announce the release date (which will include those special early-bird offers) 


I also thought I'd let you know that I'm running a few specials leading up to Christmas on my Tarot deck and the first version of playing cards (bridge size). If you order a tarot deck before midnight tonight (EST) you receive a free deck of playing cards

Here's a little detouring side-step with a look at what's been keeping me busy these past few months...

I know this work isn't playing card related (which is why I didn't want to start a separate thread), but in a way it relates to a new deck (currently in idea phase, so nothing to share yet) where I plan to do detailed ink drawings - different subjects and motifs, but similar style if that makes sense?
