Congrats on producing a branded EPC deck, Ben.

The heading in your post says the Kickstarter is launching August 5th - but I think you mean next week Tuesday September 5th, right?

What time will the Kickstarter be going live?

Right you are - August was a type, September is right, just a few days from now :)

Another image of the intricate hand-drawn Aces. I think these are lovely!

Design & Development / Re: Quick question - design copy?
« on: May 22, 2017, 04:36:51 PM »
Thanks Don.

This is still a work in progress with a few layers roughly overlaid, I was just concerned about the Kings hat and clothes which I though resembled another project. I'm not sure if seeing so many decks subconsiously implants ideas into your mind, so just double checking :)

Design & Development / Quick question - design copy?
« on: May 21, 2017, 06:03:16 PM »
Hi Everyone,

Quick question - I was discussing a design concept I have been working on with another artist, showed him my progress, etc. He had an idea on the design so made an edit of my first draft below. I keep thinking it looks like the same design from another deck though - am I just imagining things or has he just copied a design? Something about the hat rings bells.

Thanks

Do you have anymore pictures of this deck? will there be an uncut sheet? Because if so, this will be the first time I'd actually be interested in an uncut sheet for framing and artwork.

I certainly do! Here is the uncut sheet so far:

Uncut sheets will be available - this deck was literally designed around the uncut sheet so that it will look amazing. I have deliberately priced the sheet as cheap as I can (only $35 - much cheaper than other projects), and even have an 18-hour earlybird window where you can get the Pipmen: World deck, the second deck of the project AND the uncut for only $53 USD including postage to the US! That is super cheap, so make sure to get in during the EB window to score a great deal :)

When will this deck go up at Kickstarter and are there any other goals and such when posted for funding?

It will launch on Feb 14th. I am tossing up whether to include an extra deck as an option up front or a stretch goal...

There will be plenty of stretch goals, including interior printing, a 55th 'map' card and more.

While the deck is being spoiled over at United Cardists (simpler to have only 1 location for this sort of reveal), we are currently about a quarter revealed :)

Hi Everyone,

I have waited to make this post for almost 3 years. This project is the culmination of literally everything that EPC has made so far - everything we have done has been an experiment towards or a tangent of this...

It is with great excitement that I present to you: Pipmen World!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/585926215/pipmen-world-playing-cards

Now, you are probably thinking: "Another Pipmen deck, you made one of them already (3, actually), what makes this so special? Why is this a world first?"

Well, this deck is not an ordinary deck. It has a secret, something that no other deck in the world has. It is this secret that makes Pipmen World incredible, and I can't wait to share it with you! Rouselle and ecNate guessed it first - Pipmen World is made up of awesome self-contained scenes which join together to form a giant scene - a picture of the Pipmen's World!

As we go continually spoil this deck, the uncut sheet below will be updated. I have made the card borders transparent so you can see all the detail that goes into these cards (including hidden detail in the card borders). Make sure to click the picture for a larger res version!

The campaign preview page is now up (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/585926215/1617830239?token=e2c93a92), so make sure to check it out for every little detail, including the following:

Pipmen world will be launching on Kickstarter on February 14th! Check out the preview page for all the details: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/585926215/1617830239?token=e2c93a92

EARLYBIRD PRICING will be available for the first 18 hours! This covers the most popular 3 rewards: 1 Pipmen world deck, 1 world and 1 collectors deck and 1 world, 1 collectors and 1 uncut sheet. Make sure to get in on the first day for the best deal. The 2 decks + 1 uncut is only $53 including shipping - that is SUPER CHEAP of decks + an uncut! Don't miss out :)

Pipmen world goes live February 14th, 4pm UTC, 8am PST, 11am EST. Make sure to get in on the first day for the best Earlybird deals!

I have to say I really like the new tuck box for the Day deck. Looks promising and I'm excited to see more. Sounds like a lot of incentive for people with EB's etc. I'll be a backer of course regardless of all that whatsits. Super limited items you say, this has me curious. When you say "items" I'm thinking card clips, dealer coins and t-shirts. Maybe a few poker chips sprinkled in or some box or another. So when you say "items" is this what you mean, or do you mean "Deck"s? I don't think gizmos and doodads get to have codenames.

Thanks Fes!
For the super limited items; you'll have to wait and see. I think it will be pretty obvious once you get on the campaign page, but a bit of mystery never hurt anyone ;)

The Prism cards are world-first unique creations featuring tactile gloss ink on the card faces. This is the second (and final) installment in the Prism trilogy after the very successful Prism: Night.

The new and improved Prism campaign will have heaps of awesomeness, including free US shipping, lots of early birds, and some super limited items which only a few lucky backers will be able to get (codenamed Prism: SPECTRUM)!

Stay tuned for more spoilers are we get closer to the launch. I can’t wait to see this project made!

Good advice all.

I will plan to launch a new project in October, which will give time for the production of the current one to get completed, and allow time for the production of the new deck do be complete before Christmas.

Looking forward to it!

Design & Development / Advice wanted on launching new projects
« on: August 20, 2016, 06:24:41 PM »
Hi everyone,

I would appreciate a quick word of advice regarding launching new projects.

Normally I would wait until a project is 100% produced and shipped out to backers before launching a new one. That means aprox 3 months between campaigns. I've made and shipped 3 projects so far (prism night, pipmen red & black and pipmen shadow), and I am currently running the Medieval campaign for Egor. I was hoping to launch Prism day and Dusk in early October to finish the series before the years end (I have really exciting things planned for 2017), but this would require me to launch prism before medieval had completed shipping.

Do you think that is acceptable, or should I wait until new years to do a new project? Is October even a good time to launch projects? What are your thoughts? The Prism project is all ready to go, just waiting...
