You can't really say they're in release yet.  They're not available at retail and as there was no crowdfunding, the backers didn't get them (no backers).  You were fortunate to get them - tell us the story behind it.

Hey Don

No story at all. I received it on 29 December 2015, completely out of the blue. To say I was a happy bunny, was an understatement.

I will mention that I've received things from David in the past. Various decks; lots of personalised, autographed posters and various other things.

Yeah, he's a cool guy like that.  I got to meet him once, had dinner with some of his crew at his office in New York.  Easy to talk to, nice fellow.  Fit like you wouldn't believe - real athlete fit!

Yes,he is.

That must have been a cool dinner. I would have thought he is seriously fit, bearing jn mind some of the endurance "tests/stunts" he does. One thing he isn't, is foolish. Not that foolish, anyway  :t11:

You can read about it - I posted it here just after it occurred a couple of years ago.  Do a search from the home page for "david blaine dinner" and there can't be too many possible subject hits!

Royal Bee from USPCC.
I think it is a new in-house deck.
I love Bee.  Thus grab it without second thought  ;D

@ksi, very nice!  I just picked up one off eBay.  Love that gold MetalLuxe on this deck (fronts and backs to boot!).

It looks gorgeous - but it's not an in-house deck.  Anything USPC produces for their own purposes has a guarantee joker card - this doesn't.  Plus the in-box print work has a more Asian flair to it - I'd wager this is one of the many popular variants designed by and ordered by one of a handful of Asian companies that have been doing custom Bee decks.

I'm honestly surprised to see it come out - I had heard rumor that USPC was no longer allowing custom Bee decks, restricting all custom work in the brand to casino orders only.  It's possible that the rumor is false or that this was one of the last orders placed before the restriction went into effect.

I think this deck is a newer version (or gold foil version) of the Golden Bee (see my post #1195 in this thread).  Both this deck and the Golden Bee do not contain the guarantee joker.
Maybe it is USPCC who asked someone to design these decks?  Then they are not fully "custom", as it is USPCC the party to initial the production.
Maybe they are initially planned to have a limited amount?  Then this may be one of the reason the guarantee joker not exist.

I actually have no idea.  Seems USPCC doesn't advertise these two decks in their US website.  However, if these are fully custom decks.  Why there is nobody advertising these decks...

From my understanding, this deck, as well as the Golden Bee, were produced by the USPC China Agent, which is part of the Jarden Group (apparently a sister company as per their website and a certificate by USPC, in Chinese), so I think that would still make this an 'in-house' deck.  Don't know why it doesn't have the guarantee joker, maybe because it is for the China market and they don't honor the guarantees here?

P.S.  This deck is a limited deck, though I am not sure how many in total were produced (I asked the China Agent but got no answer), I was told another shipment is due next month...only 90 have been released in China to date

Under those circumstances, yes, it would be an in-house deck, in much the same way that an order by the International Playing Card Company or Heraclio Fournier SA would be in-house - from another company, but a subsidiary.

BTW: Jarden as a company is pretty much done or close to it - they sold their assets last year to Newell Rubbermaid, now known as Newell Brands.  So now USPC is part of an even BIGGER conglomerate than it was before.

Hi, new member from Sweden here. My collection contains mostly of Swedish decks, bridge size.

These are two of my latest  acquisitions:

Souvenir deck from Swedish American Line, New York - Gothenburg
The ship on the back, I think, is Gripsholm. Which would place the deck around 1925-1954, most likely in the later span.
Possible manufactured by John Waddington Ltd. of Britain. It says J. W. Ltd. on the control slip.

Öberg's double deck 363x, from 1933

I can confirm that the Swedish American line deck is made by John Waddingtons.
The Courts (Waddingtons standard pattern W.2) date the deck between 1930-1940, After 1940 all the Jacks loose their moustaches and the King of Hearts gains a moustache .
The Ace of Spades and Joker are both specially designed specifically for that shipping line.

Many thanks for that information. That narrows it down good.

I get new stuff all the time, I usually don't post photos lately as I've been extremely busy. These arrived today though and there is no way that I wasn't going to take a few minutes to grab a couple snaps to share! These are easily some of my favorite decks of the year. They're all slated for poker use at some point, since the Brimstone have a brother and sister deck. Maybe I'll post a family portrait at some point if they don't burn each other up haha. 8)
Part of my Collection updated infrequently but occasionally, when I remember. (I haven't in months.)

I really like the Grinders decks. Only problem is, that you can get a little glitter stuck to your fingers, now and then.
