A new deck is on the way from the creator of the Alice of Wonderland deck

"New Fairy Tale Playing Cards

Here's a sneak peak of Red Riding Hood at a very early design for my new fairy tale deck, which I still have to name (Enchanted Tales?). As before, I am open to your suggestions and ideas to help make this new deck the best it can be! I plan on placing a popular fairy tale character on the face of each card - all 53 or 54 cards (depending on the printer). Some of the characters I want to include are: Snow White, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Jack and Bean Stalk, Rumplestiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, etc - and all of them will be more grown up and are tied to my Wonderland story. This deck will not be steampunk, but rather more elegant in art and design and keeping with the fairy tale fantasy look - I plan to give it my best work yet as the art will be digitally painted. I am still working on the back design (not finished) for this deck, and soon will create the tuck case design.

I want to take a different approach on the royals and all the cards, so I will create a 3/4 to a full pose so I can fully represent the spirit of the character, surrounded by an intricate and elegant border, but still keeping the corner pips close to the edge. I'm considering using a really rich dark red with a reflective silver metallic ink for the backs."

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

This is a deck with some serious potential.  The art's nice, though Snow White does look a little older than in the story.  I like this one.  What's the ETA on the KS project launch?

Look closer Don.  He's going for the grown up look with these charachters.

Ah.  That makes more sense.  It's what you get for commenting on so little sleep.  Slept for five hours yesterday, been awake for 23 and counting...

Yeah that didn't seem like the coherent, clear minded Don I know.   :)  I worked the overnight shift for about 9 years.  Every weekend was a no sleep bender.  I feel your pain.  No part of your brain works properly after a certain amount of time awake.  Get some rest pal!
