I would love to own some vintage bicycle decks, would be great to add a bit more history into my collection. As for now, I have a 1979 Bee blackjack world championship deck, a vintage sahara casino deck, a imperial casino deck from the 1970's.

But, you are totally right about the prices, they just shoot up to pretty darn high amounts near the end of the auction.

May be this is not related to the topic so much.
But anyone know the good website that have all information about USPCC decks, since it was first founded.
What is the first deck they printed?

All the info is in the links above.

All the tuck boxes were opened.  A couple of decks the cards were still sealed in cellophane.

The one that sold for big bucks had the cards loose.

Crazy

I'm actually the one who won the bid on the sprocket deck.

@CBJ: I'm not sure what you meant by it being loose. It does come with a tuck box, though opened.

Loose mean that the cards are not sealed in cellophane.  You can shuffle them, handle them, etc.

Will you post pictures when you receive the deck??

Rather than collecting vintage decks, you can just wait for a really long time before selling yours.

Oh I see what you meant. Yeah for the vintage/antique decks, it's extremely hard to find them in sealed conditions, so I got over the stage where I have to search for sealed ones, but instead hunt for different back designs.

Sure I'll post some pictures up once I get them, but note that it'll at least be in two weeks due to shipping.

I think the box for the sprocket deck is not the original- the lack of a date code on the ace puts it before 1904, but the box itself says "revised 1905."  Unless it is one of those oddball situations where the deck was manufactured and sat around for a couple of years before it was packaged and sent out (Hochman mentions this rare occurrence when talking about tax stamp dates).

Congrats on the purchase.
