Hey guys, I saw this auction on Ebay for a sealed golden nugget playing cards. Well it looks resealed to me since the seal on the nuggets are more to the left, this one seems off by alot. The red strip is a little bit tight on the left side of the box. So what do you guys think? Sealed(new) or resealed(used)?

Eh something looks a little off with the deck and the seller. It's a little hard to tell since I'm no expert but I would pass on this auction and look for something a little more reliable.

Seems legit to me. I don't think anyone would forge or reseal a Golden Nugget, when there're the Jerry's which would clearly bring much more profit. But I could be wrong...

It is not fake, nor resealed.

You might win this deck with decent price since its starting bid makes many GN collectors unhappy. I guess there won't be many competitors.  ;)

Actually you can if your shipping address is in US.

Are you in the States?
A lot of the times I couldn't contact a seller on eBay because they've restricted the item to US buyers, just so they wouldn't have to deal with international shipping. But there're ways around that.

Right.
You could probably find a friend or someone in the States to receive it for you.

Otherwise if you want to contact the seller, either make up an American address, or you could go to advance search, then "find a member", type in the seller's ID, then send him a message after selection "this is not about an item". That way the message will go through. Though if he agrees to ship it to you internationally, you'll still have to bid with an American address. If you can't send a message, that means you can't bid with an international address either.

Good luck!

Let us know what the guy says!

The cellophane in the deck is so weird! It's so tight that the box is bending in.

Not weird, that's GN. In fact almost all decks in that era have very tight cellophane. ;)

The cello seems legitimate to me. I see nothing wrong with it, and I own several GN's. Though keep in mind that with cellophane this tight it's very likely to "pop" in your possession which kills the value by 5-10% automatically. I had a pristine deck of Jerry's that popped in my care and a recently acquired GN deck refuses to stop popping. Darned humidity.

What exactly do you mean "popped"? Did the cellophane rip or become unsealed or what? Also, is the box warped now?

No, those are legit GNs. I have some of them and they are similar or have the seal to the left, but always tight sealed cellophane. If that was resealed, which it isn't, it belonged to a cheater of course, from Kansas City I believe and might have been Dave,Sinatra before he moved to NY or Doctor. Those were the only men in that era that could replicate a perfectly sealed deck like that.

Would a humidity-controlled environment have prevented that?

A ziplock bag may solve the problem if it is caused by humidity. (I do keep vtg decks in electric dry carbinets that were used to store my cameras and lens... :mindf-ck: )

I haven't encountered popped cellophane, but I had a popped/broken seal (shipping damage) :-\ :-\
