I am Canadian. From BC as well. Always love to see more of us on this forum!

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to go more into detail about your plans or who you are? You will be more likely to get applicants if you provide details about yourself to show you're not just someone trying to get peoples information online. Just seems a bit fishy since your post provides basically no information, and you are new to the community, so no one knows anything about you.

That is a really awesome video. Well shot, cool concept. Definitely one of the more unique cardistry videos I have watched.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Deck ONE v3 already???
« on: February 20, 2014, 12:41:02 AM »
I don't have experience with the v2 version of this deck. I do however have the v1 sitting right infront of me. You are correct saying that there is no cut out on the tuck in the v1, no numerals to be found.

For mac Delicious is a useful tool for organizing and cataloging about any and everything you want.

Looks interesting, might be a pretty cool option. I'll check it out when I get some free time. Thanks!

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Wizard Wars - Reality TV Show

Hmm, interesting.

I don't think that showing the creative process behind magic really gives it away. For me at least, it's all about the performance, not the actual effects. The only trouble I see with the show is I don't know how appealing it will be to laymen. Sure, the majority of people may like watching magic tricks, but do they really care about how they are created? I may be wrong, but that's just an issue that I could see coming up if it was trying to gain a larger audience.

Congrats Darkderp! Once again, thanks to Nurul for putting on such a great giveaway.

Those cassette drawers are awesome Josh. I'll definitely be on the lookout and try to snag a couple of those. As much as I like the shelving I have built to display my decks, I do need something that I can use to tuck other decks from my collection out of the way. Thanks for sharing that idea.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Most Expensive Deck Opened
« on: January 26, 2014, 03:02:07 PM »
I would say that I am in the same range as chach. I have a Fed 52 that I play around with on a daily basis. I also opened up a Red Artifice deck a long time ago, when I had 8 of them. I don't believe I have ever paid more than $20 for a deck and opened it though, the ones mentioned above where either from trades, or from initial releases.

Those photos are beautiful Jay. Definitely looks like the route I would go if/when I have some uncuts to frame. Who knows, maybe once I grow my vintage collection a bit more I might have to grab a few uncuts.

Very nice deck. I don't browse the design board too often so these are the first time I have seen them. If I hadn't refocused my collecting onto vintage decks, I would definitely be picking these up. The tuck on the First editions look sweet. Good luck on your KS campaign.

Very cool. Thanks for posting this Tom. Is there a place to view current bids or do we have to be a member to see that?

I am the same as Don, both are great decks. I choose Seronda, just so I am different than Don.  ;)

I watched that a little while ago. It's just awesome, in every sense of the word. I can't imagine the time and patience it would take to create those sculptures.

The Conversation Parlor / Re: What was the best Xmas present you GAVE?
« on: January 08, 2014, 09:42:52 PM »
I think the best present given out in our family was to my mom. For a long time she has wanted a decent camera, something that could become a new hobby for her. We bought her a Canon T3i and it worked out that just as it was being delivered, she had gone out for dinner with her friend. She had no idea it was even under the tree until christmas morning, when she unwrapped it. Good surprise.

I think the Ace is pretty cool. Unique, but not completely abstract from the standard spade. I haven't read every post in this thread, so forgive me if I missed an explanation, but is there a significance to the time you chose to display on the card? Also, based off of the hour hand, shouldn't it be almost exactly 1:30? I might be nitpicking, but it just seems a bit off to me.

I ended up with about 2000 points, which is great, since I missed the first few days. I really enjoyed this little holiday bonus, added a bit of excitement to each day.
