I thought I created a thread for this last year, but can't find it.  Anyhow, this goes live today at 2pm Eastern 6/14.

Apologies, I neglected to mention this when I picked this up a month ago, but by waiting you get a chance to get them on sale!

2 for $20 one day dysfunctional deck sale! www.deviantmoon.com/wordpress

He also has an ebay store you should take a look at, especially if you are reading this well after I post.  Note there is also an uncut sheet available.  Just 500 were printed and yes he has confirmed he's considering doing a full deck of the transformation cards (just 28 were created, unknown how many copies of each, where 2 random ones given out with the decks).  Apparently he is also working on a number of additional decks as well.  The Portfolio 52 entry.

Lastly, they also have a tarot deck in a similar style  This is also available cheaper in unsigned form on Amazon if you can sort through the options.  You'll also note there is also the original version available at US Game Systems and Amazon

Playing Card Plethora / Create image collage of your card collection
« on: January 14, 2015, 01:42:59 PM »
I created this for PCDB and also posted at UC, duplicating here for all of you.  It does require that you have your collection loaded in PCDB, signup here.

You may have seen the PCDB image stiches/collages that Rhu created for 2014 decks, etc.  There is also talk of eventually allowing people to download their collections easily.

However, what if you wanted to create your own image collage of your collection NOW?  It's easy.

1) Go to your PCDB collection (suggest using collection view that has largest images)
2) Save the entire page (on windows in Chrome just right click on white part of page and select 'Save As', then be sure to use the 'Webpage, Complete' option)
3) Locate the saved files, sort by file type and remove all non image files.  You now have your entire collection in individual image files!
4) Use software of your choosing to generate a single collage from these source files.

For downloadable programs I found Picasa to be the best free option, although Shape Collage is pretty great as well except it adds a watermark for free version.  For online http://www.getloupe.com/ has the most options, but it adds watermarks for free version as well, leaving us with http://www.collage.com/ as the best free option.  Most others I've seen are limited to around 20 or 100 images which would only work with small collections.

More examples here from these and other solutions at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nzs762s2p0unxxm/AAD9dNhyKDKMADE50kXcAYkfa?dl=0 that also make it more obvious of the source, but here's a few of each to give you an idea of what is possible.

There's a few tricks for each solution (for example, Picasa needs setting change to be able to even see the small photos, layout tricks, etc).  If anybody needs help let me know, but this is pretty easy stuff for most if you are willing to spend a little time.

Teased on Facebook earlier today, this will be his 5th deck with title "Name of the Game".  Obviously won't be up on Kickstarter for about a year since he just started the creation and Delicious will be the next one to be posted.  Still, I'm pretty excited about this one, but he needs to STOP - I only have 5 spots on my main uncut hallway and this means he will have claimed them all.  I am running out of places for the others. ;)

Name of the Game is my 5th deck, and it's all about sports. Here's the first card.

I specifically wanted to make a modern deck of cards, using modern paper, modern ink, modern finishes but with an immediate look of being from the Middle Ages. I wanted it to be a little rough in some places and at the same time have an old-world elegance. Something that would look like it came straight from the time of the Master of the Playing Cards.

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Vintage 5 suit decks (esp. USPCC eagles)
« on: December 05, 2014, 03:05:52 PM »
I stumbled on this today, wondering if anybody has more details or has a deck?  Yes, I'm aware of alternate suit decks (many of them), including 5 Crowns and Star Deck.  These Eagle ones look awesome though, curious what the tuck looked like.  The modern ones might have the same function, but the eagle suit look is just super.

In 1938 there appeared a five-suit deck, having the usual 52 cards of the standard deck plus a complete fifth suit. In the United States this fifth suit was green, called EAGLES, and marked by an appropriate symbol; in England it was blue, called ROYALS, and marked by a crown. A five suit Bridge game was widely played for some months, but was soon forgotten. Five-suit poker made a better game, but can seldom be played today because the cards are no longer generally on sale.

It looks like this has been brought up a few times, but no response and threads locked.  Just wondering if that will happen?  Most if the other forums I am on use it and it sure makes it easier to keep up with them all in one place.  Thanks for the consideration.

So obviously I'm an oddball because I have all my top bookmarks as just icons in my Chrome bookmark/toolbar.

The favicon for this site is this.  What is that exactly?

Mostly just curious, but it would be amazing to me if you could update it someday to something more clear and related, like a deck of cards or just A with a spade or something.  Unless of course this has some key meaning I'm missing because I can't make it out.

Introduce Yourself / I like pretty cards, I suck at flourishes (for now)
« on: February 27, 2014, 01:07:36 PM »
Howdy!  I'm Nate from NW Wisconsin USA.  I'm just a casual collector of interesting card decks that recently got more serious.  While looking for display ideas and new card decks I found this site in a Google search.  I previously collected the decks and used them for card games once in a while, but now moving into displaying and protecting the better ones.  So far I have about a dozen decks and about another 6 or so on order.  I hope to start learning a few minor flourishes and the like as well.  I've been mostly active on Board Game Geek and especially Kickstarter lately.  Giving this a try now!

Question though - I added my Kickstarter URL to my profile, but it doesn't show up and everybody I look at just says 'Kickstarter' or 'Twitter', but no actual links.  Is this as designed for privacy or something???
