The Conversation Parlor / Re: Anyone into tarot?
« on: January 03, 2020, 09:29:48 AM »
Not into tarot so much as I am into cards and if you are liking the art of some tarot decks go check out Ussi Otherworlds Tarot, which is a contemporary classic, imho. Also coming soon to kickstarter;  Lorenzo (Stockholm 17), will introduce his Keymaster Tarot, which is sure to be a hit.

I agree with Mike. The double pips seems too inconsistent for me. Either double pips all the way or single; I prefer single. I also feel there is competition for the indices with the border design. I would lose the top half of the circle of border design around the indices and enlarge them to fill the area.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: About the thinnest deck made by USPC

touya,

Have you asked Magic Orthodoxy this question? He usually measures 10 cards with a micrometer in his deck reviews, but on the review of the GH decks he does not. Perhaps he would measure the deck for you?

Hope this helps

I remember when I got in trouble with my first post on this forum back in the day because I had only created an account to promote the Oracle KS

Yeah I was once lectured on card finishes when I sarcastically said life was too short for plastic coated playing cards

Well done Ender.

Is it just me or has there been a recent surge in pen collectables? Seems I'm seeing them everywhere and some of the custom pens are very nice to look at, but I have no idea as to the quality of the mechanism. Any tips what to keep an eye out for?

I have no answer regarding the name of the back pattern on the second picture above, but I believe that design is a great candidate for a revival. It is already one way and could easily made into a marked deck in several ways. I personally like it very much.

Thanks EndersGame. That was interesting.

Design & Development / Re: Melodick deck : tell us your opinion !

Magicienpag,

I see no problems with your design. I very much like the courts cards (KS & QS) where the instrument/equipment becomes the diagonal dividing line. I also very much like the design of the pips.

I personally prefer pips to be solid and not just outlines and it is curious to me that you chose shaded pips on the aces and outlines on the rest, but this is not a critique just an observation that causes a slight imbalance or inconstancy for me.

The back design seems unfinished to me, personally.

I wish you the best with your project and hope it very successful for you.

Very nice artwork. Well done. Good Luck.

I respect the way you reviewed this deck. Your passion for the subject matter didn't effect the honesty of the review. This deck was nowhere on my radar and now it is.

Thanks,

"1st" representing my very first solo venture in to the playing card industry but also representing the first comments I get on various platforms  from supporters around the world.
