All,

Bosch deck will be launched in approx. 2 weeks from today. Check this page to get notified of the launch.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sunishchabba/bosch-playing-cards-0

As I said in the custom design thread on UC, kickstarter campaign will be quite simple: one collector's edition deck with uncut sheet. No back or tuck change (similar to what will be there for Mythos). ...I've started feeling that what has been going at present in custom playing card world isn't right, and as change starts with each one of us, someone needs to start doing what feels right in this regard. This took more than a year, and I do hope it will still attract art & playing card collectors along with puzzle enthusiasts in the mix.

This deck requires very precise registration & so I am considering Legends Taiwan facility & have also reached out to Lotrek as his registration is top-notch. The tuck will have matte finish and embossing only (no foil), so it won't utilize Lotrek's fine foil related craftsmanship though, and I am yet to hear back from him.

Please feel free to share this link with other collectors that you know of, and who are not on PCF.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Kalevala Playing Cards - Coming soon

Received the prototype deck today. This is the first time I've used Shuffled Ink in US to get a prototype printed and they did a good job.

Thanks Will Roya for recommending their name.

I realize this is an older thread, but it was one of the few I could find that mentioned Shuffled Ink.  I'd like to hear more about your experience with them, since most people seem to only use MPC.

My own experience with Shuffled Ink was very positive and the quality of the cards was very comparable to MPC's decks.  See my thread here for full details and pictures (Getting your own deck printed by Shuffled Ink - a review).

But I don't hear much about them, and most people don't seem to be familiar with Shuffled Ink as a possible alternative to MPC.  How did your experience compare with doing prototype decks with MPC?

Very good experience as such. MPC - you have to use their online card builder, and they do not entertain any deviation in terms of the templates. Shuffled Ink modified the files on their own to fit their template and updated me on the progress. They are a family business I believe, based out of Florida, US and so, US creators will benefit more by using them in terms of speed of delivery.

Please check now. I might be tinkering with the page at that time when you accessed.

Hi All,

So, after 11 months of publishing the On the Cards book, I was able to sell almost all copies of the Collector's edition book and left with 14 copies now.

Given the world we are in these days, you can now download the digital version of the book (in epub format) free from my store. Here is the direct link:

Enjoy!!!

I'm not so sure I get it.  I remember seeing the art for this, yeah - remember my wife kinda liked it as well.  But it's not ringing any bells beyond that.

oh..k :(

I got the prototype printed in India on Quantum Grain finish :)

This doesn't mean that I will get the main deck printed there, it will be printed by Legends but I'd this bucket list item to get a deck printed on the same finish as Archduke's. It is mentioned in the bottom flap in the pic and I thought you will be able to catch that.

Regards,
Sunish

OK, now Archdukes, I remember!  Quantum Grain finish as well!  But the box doesn't say either!

Yes, the box says: "Prototype printed in India on linen grain finish'.

I'd to use a different name here 'Linen grain finish' as it is under new management.

USPCC's newer requirement could have resulted into uncuts not looking good when last two cards show as double backer or I'd have to go with modern cut rather than traditional cut. Glad that I have been given an exception & they will change the layouts.

Quote
If you are going to do Face Down/Traditional cut punch we need to have the last card on the back of the sheet be a different card than the back card so that our finishing dept can find the end of the deck quickly when on the finishing line. If this is not different then if the decks can get out of order the workers can’t see it right away and fix it.

A quick dirty version showing the capabilities of Augmented Reality (AR) for this deck. The experiment was inspired by Playing Arts Zero project.

All the Heritage edition decks (total print run 500) that will be pledged during this kickstarter campaign will be HAND NUMBERED. All numbered decks will be offered to the backers which mean someone among you will receive #1/500 as well.

You did a fine job with this one - the full-color version is outstanding, but the heritage edition is nothing to sneeze at, either.  I'll have to show my wife - she might be interested in getting a few decks!

Thanks for your kind words Don.
