In general, Ellusionist used to be a great brand for cards.  Ever since the Madison series started, though, it's become pretty humdrum and boring.  This deck is no exception - it's about as underwhelming as a deck gets for me.  It's a shame that the same company that came up with the Arcane deck and the Artifice deck is producing this...

I think the people behind these great decks are no longer part of E. Lee, Jason, etc. And you're right, feels like E decks started going downhill eversince DM started his decks.

I contacted Murphy's about this already. Just waiting to hear from them. I'll let you guys know.

Edit: Here is their response:

I referred but our buyer is not interested in this item…sorry

I too have been using Ultra Pro cases for 4 years already. I usually go for the 250 count 2 piece box, fits 7 decks with a little room to wiggle around. Works well with vintage decks too as it somehow prevent further warping of the deck.

Shipping 8 decks to US - $23. Reminds me of eBay listings with items marked very low but with insane shipping. Wow.

I tried to buy a Zen brick. Got this message as I was filling out payment info:

"No shipping rates were returned for your order. The shipping provider's server may be unavailable at this time. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please contact the store administrator."

Refreshed a few times, it's been a few minutes. Still the same.

Can't complete my order :/

Same here. I wish we wouldnt miss out on the Zen prototype.

Hi,

The following link shows many interesting informations. Indeed, there are many types of golden nugget :
https://sites.google.com/site/cardconjurer/playingcards/vintagecasinoplayingcards/goldennugget

Good job from the author!

Best regards,

Bathcrew.

Sorry to bring up such an old post, but wanted to chime in. I created the website you linked many years ago. I had started compiling information on vintage casino decks here:

https://sites.google.com/site/cardconjurer/playingcards/vintagecasinoplayingcards

I honed in on the solid back designs with white borders. Many years ago that was my favorite type of deck to collect. I sold off my large collection of vintage casino decks in order to narrow the scope of my collection. Many of you may own some of my old decks.

For whatever reason, some of these vintage casino decks are mind-bogglingly rare.

Fred - not sure if you research extends to the other vintage casino decks, but the above link could be a good jumping off point for a detailed study.

Really nice to see you again. Hope you can come here more frequently, or update the site. As there are only a handful of people I know that collect casino vintage decks.

I will most likely make it even more limited. No display decks this time around either.

95% sure it will be like below on launch day.

750 Limited Editions
200 Gold Gilded Editions
25 Special Editions

I'm sure majority went with option A. But it looks like it is heading the other direction. :-\

If I remember correctly, FULLBOATDEALER (Ohio) from ebay has done fulfillment for both Virtuoso and the first Seasons decks. Seasons might have switched to Kings Wild due their friendship but I was very happy with everything I ever received from FULLBOATDEALER.

Virts were done by Pokerstud52.

These might be the ones sliverboi is talking about. Sorry for the poor image quality, just screengrabbed from my instagram account.  ::)

You make me crazy!  ??? Frontier two ways design - and sealed!! A+++

I was lucky to get the two-way single deck at a buy it now price. Was the bargain of the year for me.

On a side note, the auction for the used gift deck mentioned by iDoctor went well.

The blacks look good, word is that the stock isn''t as good though. I am gonna buy a brick and find out.

Oddly, The BLACK will cost slightly more then the green did. 2 decks for $16 & brick (12) for $80. I won't complain.  Blaine has always been fair to us!

Could be because of the stock. Saw DB's comment in Instagram that this is Bee stock.

The selling point here is this is the first time cards are actually embossed. Something different, true "never been done before". Same as Mech 3D deck, it's not about the playing cards, it's about the innovation.

My two cents.

I was keeping quiet about this, and now u beat me to it :(

I've been having lengthy discussions with Alvin regarding the relaunch of this deck.

He's making some tweaks here and there. I threw some names at him to talk to about getting the best out of this project.
I mentioned LPCC and EPCC, hoping he goes with one of these guys. Also, looking for a reasonable fulfilment centre for distribution in the US. Mentioned KWP, does anyone know of any others?

Pokerstud52 of eBay. My best bet.

Thank you, Don.
To appreciate this let me show one very specific deck from my collection. It's Dunes 1st run (Bee, 1965, but after June 22). This deck is rare as it is, but this one especially rare. Usually the color of the box and color of the cards inside were the same (either blue or red). But this deck was mixed during the production. The box is red, but all cards are blue (excepting 3 red cards). It has come mixed from the producer. Hope, you guys like it  ;)

If you want to see a rich and vast collection of Vintage Casino Decks, people from Taiwan and China are the ones you should look for. River Tsai, Ares Xue to name a few.

PD: I am a vintage casino deck collector myself, but not as great as the two mentioned. :)

The stealth deck is the deck of 37 or so gaff cards for the white lions. It was sold as a set with a card clip. The box is black on top, red on bottom, with a blue oval over the lion symbol.

Now I know. Never knew they were called stealth deck. Thanks bud!

Well, Don IS awake, now - and eating lunch!

All brand new playing cards straight from the box have a slight chemical odor to them because of the chemicals used in the finish - Magic Finish has a sharper, more "chemical-y" smell than a standard pack of Bikes from the drug store.  The off-the-shelf Bikes might have an odor faint enough that you can't detect it, depending on your olfactory sensitivity.

Who remembers the release of the White Lions?  It was, in order:
Series A Blue (common)
Series A "Red" Rainbow (rare, not sold individually)
Series A "Purple" Rainbow (rare, not sold individually)
Series A "Blue UV" Rainbow (rare, not sold individually)

Then came the easy-to-get versions...
Series B Blue and Red (simultaneous, common)
"Black Label" (common)
"Stealth Cards" (extremely rare)

Who wants to bet that there will be a "version two" where the green deck is reprinted and made available to all either individually or in pairs?  Nearly all of Blaine's deck releases came in three colors, not counting the crazy-rare variants.

Don, could you remind me what are Stealth Cards? Seems like this is the first time to see this. A picture maybe?

Hi Don, modified the listing. Thanks for the help! :)
