I've had this for a little while now but it has become one of my favourite non playing card purchases in a while. (already had the deck)

Awesome deck. Definitely picking one up.

The first Kickstarter I've backed since coming back into collecting. Beyond excited to add the set of 4 (no gilded for me unfortunately) to my collection. Absolutely love the purple variation.

The tilt is strong with this one. Great collection, definitely a lot of stuff that I'd like to fill my shopping bag with  ;).
How is the Derren Brown set? I'm eyeballing it like forever but ultimately the tuckboxes look too cheap for me to justify the price tag. I love the idea though and the cards plus the box itself look very nice and well executed.

Haha, thanks. At least the image seems to orientate itself correctly when clicked on (for me at at least). In general I am quite pleased with the Derren Brown set. I have not cracked either of the decks open but I am very happy with the look of the set, adds some nice character to the display. The set is definitely one people (non playing card collectors) notice and comment on when they see my collection. For me, I think the deck by itself is nice, but I felt like I needed the whole package to really make it a nice addition to my collection.

I've been making quite a few additions since getting back into collecting so I'll just post an overall picture. Hoping to be adding a Gold Arabesque and the upcoming Crypt deck to my collection soon as well.

6
I have put up an auction for a signed pair of decks from the original Federal 52 kickstarter. Both decks are signed on the tuck but have the majority of the cellophane remaining in order to protect the signatures.

I've finally be able to put most of my collection back on display. Still have new new pieces on the way, but this is my collection in its current state. Not shown (as it was tough to get all in one photo) are another two lower shelves stocked with miscellaneous decks.

Hi Don,

The convention definitely sounds like a blast! I'll have to see if some of my holiday time can line up with it next year.

Thanks Don,

I actually have a half brick of them on the way. I was disappointed about missing the kickstarter, completely did not realize that was going on. Super excited to receive those but I will keep an eye of for some originals, just a nice piece to add to the collection.

No problem!

I did not know that subreddit existed! Very cool! I will make sure to post a few things there when I get the chance!

I'm also want to get one EMP Monarchs and 144 limited Blue Gold Monarchs to be come a full set.

Good Luck
Thanks!  The person I was helping find a deck actually found an open deck for sale!  A new deck also sold last month for $360 iirc.  Those Blue Gold Monarchs are a tricky one.  If you ever find one sealed, I would be very cautious.  There is no way whatsoever to tell the difference between the 144 OG Monarchs and regular Blue Monarchs.  Still, an open deck of those are still the freaking T11 Unicorn. Lol

Actually, I was told there's exactly one way to tell the difference between the rare 144 Monarchs and the original wide-release Monarchs.  I was told that the cellophane is reversed on the 144, so the tear strip goes in the other direction from standard - but don't quote me on that, because I've never actually seen a pack personally to know for certain.

That’s really interesting!  It could be true, but like you said we’ve never fondled them so we wouldn’t know lol.  One of T11’s execs handles comms on their forums, and he’s said a few times there’s no way to tell them apart.  But I feel like true card nerds like us could find a difference, and that’s exactly what your info is.  I wish we could know!!!

Back in the day I was fortunate enough to snag 3 of the original 111 that went on pre-sale. I only have one now (the older me regrets selling the other two), but have attached some photos to look at if you are interested. I have not spent a lot of time in the card collecting community over the past while so I am unsure of what (if any) differences they may be on the package. Granted you'll have to take my word for it but I have also included my order record from T11 on pre-release day (minus editing out my home address). If there is a better angle I can take, just let me know and I will try to do that ASAP.

Cheers,
Curt

Introduce Yourself / Hello Again

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while. For those who don't know me, my name is Curt, live up in B.C Canada, and I was one of the original moderators of this forum. With life's typically twists and turns I had to put my hobby of card collecting aside for a while but am looking forward to jumping back into it. I am not sure how active I will be but will definitely be trying my best to spend as much time as possible catching up on all the things I have missed. Just thought I should say hi again and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Although not my complete collections, you can view some of it on this tumblr account: http://cardcollection.tumblr.com/ . I also attached a couple photos of my displayed decks

Cheers,
Curt

Thanks for the heads up Don,

I didn't actually think about the shallowness of the cut, makes sense though. I may actually pick one of the D&D one up some day to play around with then.

I would recommend just getting a standard bicycle stripper deck. If you perform with a deck that already looks different from what your spectators may use normally.. this is an easy way to cause suspicion. Quality wise, it's not a very complex gimmick, and the decks you mentioned are all made by USPCC so quality should be the same.

I see Dota 2 and TI4  :D :D :D

Haha yeah. Unfortunately I didn't go to TI4... one of my friends who makes a living streaming on twitch tv got the mousepad for me. I was pretty lucky she was heading down so I gave that to her to try and get signed.... hopefully I can make it next year if it's still in Seattle. I watch much more pro Dota 2 than actually play it, pro games are so much more entertaining than playing with dumb pubs.

You guys have some cool hobbies  :D

I am also into some sports here and there, mostly winter sports though. I live about an hour away from a decent sized ski hill so I tend to get up there as much as possible during the winter. I am also a 4th year finance student... so watching stocks kind of counts as a hobby. Building PC's has been  something I've always been interested in as well, been building them since I was 14. Naturally when having a liking for something computer related.... I also enjoy the odd video game here and there if I can get time off from work and school. :p

Website design and a bit of graphic work has been a hobby of mine for the past few years... building websites has actually carried me financially through some of my summers between semesters. You can check out my hobbies a bit more if you're interested.. I have a website now for myself.

www.loyd.ca

take a look if you need to kill some time.

Haha, I haven't practiced magic in a while but I do remember some of those scenarios quite vividly. Thanks for sharing, and yes.. this is a fine place to post that.  :D
