reminds me of the style from Bent Castle Workshop´s : Deck of the Extraordinary Voyages  and a bit of Lance Millers Steampunk decks.
Looks good!

I'm not sure if is your new shipping method or what, but my last 2 orders with you guys cost me over $25 each in customs fees and I NEVER pay customs fees on playing cards or magic related stuff through USPC with any other company. Can you guys please do something about that? I can't be the only customer paying these ridiculous nonsense fees!
Nope they will not. I had mailed them and asked about declaring my parcel just $5 lower..nope no chance.Had to pay $11 customs fees.
Theory11, D$D , TBC etc. they all help you out...but not CARC.
So if you are a international customer you have a tough time...expensive shipping cost by the USPS and then on top of the total 19-20% customs fees. Hallejula!

Just picked up a mixed brick. Wow, glad I saw my email when I did!
You paid $10.95 for one deck or better said $131,40 plus shipping for those castrated Legend decks?

I pass on this price tag... $7.95 for the Black V2.0 were okay and in a dozen it was $5 but $10.95 lol no!

def. a different deck!
Two Thumbs Up!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Legacy Deck - 4PM Designs
« on: January 03, 2014, 01:06:44 PM »
Well, i think that 4PM Designs overcalculated the demand on this Legacy Deck.
The main reason behind canceling seems to me, and i could be wrong of course but, that they want to milk the design of the deck to its maximum.
Now with the current pledges this is not gonna happen.
The deck is produced to make money Period.

In the end they might end up with a pretty standard deck in terms of features (no embossing, foil and so on) - barely broke even after the KS Project and sitting on 3000+ decks which will not sell good (since its "standard").
The result would be a failure from a business point of view.

So ask yourself : Would you go through this hassle with that outcome?
I doubt it. So 4PM get´s panic...and would rather relaunch instead of sacrificing the design for a low ca$h output.

i like Steampunk and Cthulhu a lot - but the artworks that i can see so far are not knocking me off my chair.
the idea of this mashup is interessting but as others have stated in this thread - it looks like a grab for big money.
i really like to be proofen wrong here!!! ;)

even $200 is way too much. maybe $20-50 would be a real price for this.
but it seems that some hardcore serious collectors greeding for this "not-very-special" deck.
well with the right marketing you can sell horse shit as pancakes right? :D  ;)

After John mentioning the fact about the thick border i compared the Bicycle Skull & Bones KoS with the White Lions KoS.
Dont ask me why :)

For me its David Blaine himself on both KoS!

I have the series B.

I also see a custom brick box. Nice. Was lucky to get myself a brick.
Those pictures posted in this thread do not show custom brick boxes or?
I mean i can see those 3 back designs placed on the white standard brick boxes....can´t tell from the pictures
if they are actually printed on the box or just being single cards placed on top of the boxes.
They are printed on the boxes.
Nice to hear! Is just the top of the brick box printed or the sides as well?

I went for the yellow and the blue one.
Wonder how well they will handle since they are labeled as Bee Casino Stock and Magic Finish.
Usually this is a top combo of stock and finish (wink wink Tendril deck)

Well,
i had to contact DB´s shop about a package which never arrived at my door.
The reply times were within 24hrs for the first mail, then 1 week of no news,i wrote again a email asking if they could track it for me,again reply within 24hrs saying they would check with USPS.
I waited another week before i contacted them again....and so on and on.
So if you want your answers keep sending mails. They usually reply to one mail and then they forget about it!
Anyways after nearly 3months of waiting sending mails back and forth they had sent out a replacement which did not arrive me so far (its only 3weeks since they had send it...lol)

PS: I told them that i wanted to order the WL Black Label from them but since the package i had ordered didnt arrived me, i did not placed a order for the WL Black Label at the DB Shop.
Then they replied if i would order Black Label decks they would throw in my replacements....i had ordered some from ebay meanwhile...why buying them twice? so i told them that i would place my next order only with the release of the Silver Split Spades Lions and that this would be a longer wait.
The next day after writing this mail, they had send out my replacements.
This was on October 20th. I summed up that the release of the SSS Lions would not be that early as we expected. (I think that they will be released on Black Friday)

This deck is in my opinion one of the better Kickstarter decks.
The Ace of Spades is simple, very simple but fits the theme of the gears.
Its more of a gearpunk then a steampunk, true!
I went for 2 decks at the Kickstarter.
If i see all of the court cards i might raise my pledge for more.
What i like on custom decks for performing magic with them : The theme
If we got a good theme/design in a deck which we can build a patter around then i use this deck for performing.

In example the jokers of the Ornate decks, they look like magic wands....so use this logic in your favour!
I build them into one of my routines and the laymen love being interactive and swinging this magic wand (joker) over the deck to make the magic happen.

To make a long story short : If the theme allows me to wave a patter around it - i will perform with the deck.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: favorite gaff card
« on: October 31, 2012, 07:03:10 PM »
I really love decks that come with a double backer and a blank face card (like the first set of seasons playing cards).
How much bang for the buck you can get out of those cards is insane!
Okay you can make up your own blank face card by taking a piece of steel wool and rub of the ink of a red ace or any other card with
very little ink on it.
I know nothing fancy here, but the multiple uses of those 2 cards makes them the perfect standard gaffed cards.

so
1. Blank faced card
2. Double backed card
3. Ghost Gaff Deck The Dead Kings
4. Ultragaff Deck The Battery Card

21
Well, i went for a brick.T11 ships via first class mail so its more expensive (even though priority mail is faster and cheaper!)
I paid $24 USD for shipping 12 decks.
With the 15% discount on the brick it was a affordable deal.

Now for the cards.
I have to say they look like a copy of the White Lions.
Which is not bad,but nothing ground breaking here.
They exchanged the heads/faces of the court cards and customized them in this way...so everyone
Will still recognize them as standard courts.
Basically not much altered (like in the WL series).
The Ace of Spades is a nice design,it is not overpowered and not too simple.I think its a perfect fit for this theme.
The Jokers are custom as well and i appreciate 2 identical jokers.
Now for the back design : It looks simple for the eye.It will not go through like a casino deck of cards like the WL decks.
The marks are in the same position (for the suit) as on the WL decks but much easier to read!
Easier to learn but on the same way detectable during a riffle test. (Which the White Lions will not fail).

Lovely box design simple is the keyword. :-)

In direct compare a clone of the White Lions for sure, just in T11 style.;-)
My guess would be a 20k print run.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: info on marked and stacked white lions
« on: September 16, 2012, 07:19:51 AM »
The new Series B got indeed a marking for the suits.
Check the upper left corner aarangment of the 4 splitspades symbols.
They form something like a cross.
Take now one of each suit and you will see that those will indicate which suite the card is.

23
I went for 2 decks (got already 2 Gold Crowns..else i would have gone for 5 decks)

Quote
The Gold Crown Deck        2    $35.90
Subtotal    $35.90
Shipping & Handling    $10.68
Gift Certificates:    $0.00
Grand Total    $46.58

Don´t be greedy and btw its 1hr 20mins after my window had openend at 8pm EST....so no rush in my group

24
No doubt. that the price,on the second market will drop .extremly fast.
I dont really care if its value will decrease to black crown value (20Usd) but for those greedy ebay pirates....haha they will bleed for sure :-)
