Playing Card Plethora / Re: New Noble Deck - Coming Soon to Kickstarter

This is one of the more carefully designed I've seen recently, which is refreshing. I am picky so I don't buy bricks of anything these days, but I liked this enough to grab one. Nice work.

Wow, thank you so much for the feedback and encouragement. It's been great to hear from people like you. Thanks for supporting!

The Jack of Spades looks a little weird.  I'm sorry that's not helpful.  It just looks a little off to me.
Thanks for the feedback. These are still a work in progress, so I'll continue working our the kinks.

@Don - I've taken your feedback, along with many others that shared similar thoughts. I just posted an update with some revised court designs. If you get a chance, I'd love to know what you think.

My original concept was to use the base of the card design and subtly redesign the elements within. Over the past week, I've been working on revising the faces and continuing to add more detail. The changes are meant to be subtle, I didn't want to get too far from the original concept.  I believe this will enhance the overall concept and provide a more authentic deck of cards.

Hey guys, just wanted to post a little update on the project. I know there are a lot of collectors out there, so I wanted to add something special that's just available to the backers on Kickstarter. Each Noble deck will be hand signed and numbered to give it a nice authentic touch. This option won't be available after the campaign ends. I'm really wanting this to be a special deck, so if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

I just joined the forum about a week ago. I just started collecting a couple years ago, so I'm still kind of "new". As some of you know, I actually started designing cards as well and recently launched my latest endeavour on Kickstarter.

In addition, I'm in the processing of relaunching a Card Review site that I started awhile back. With all the great decks out there, I was hoping to create a review database where the cards could be rated on all of the different attributes (tuck, finish, etc). As I'm working on the website, I'm also looking to recruit admin-type people that are familiar with industry. More about this to come...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone around here!

Hey guys, I just wanted to give a quick update. My kickstarter project just went live a couple minutes ago. There's an early bird special where you can grab this deck for just $12 (free shipping in the USA). Hope you enjoy!  http://nobledeck.com

I'm working on adding a few other pledge levels. Right now I'm considering uncut sheets and have samples coming for Dealer Coins and Walnut Collector Boxes with custom engraving that hold two decks. I would love any feedback on if any of those sound good, or if there is anything else you would like to see.

Thanks for the feedback Don! I may take another look at making the art a bit larger. I'm planning on using metallic gold ink. The printing is going to be done by USPC.

That's a really solid deck - congrats on the successful kickstarter. That's definitely my favorite one so far.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Did USPCC stop making prototype decks ?

I've been going back and forth with USPC for a while now. When I went to get my first sample deck about 3 years ago it was around $450. Today, for a full custom deck it's $1,300. This cost does go towards the overall cost, however. So, if your going to get the deck done for sure, it really doesn't matter as much.

It's good to know there's other options out there though. I hadn't considered doing a test deck from MPC...interesting.

I really like the concept. Sorry I missed the project, but congrats on the successful campaign.

Congrats on the successful project! Looks like you're going with USPC printing after all.

Playing Card Plethora / New Noble Deck - Coming Soon to Kickstarter
« on: July 29, 2016, 12:05:07 PM »
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know about a deck I've been working on for quite some time. I'm about to launch it on Kickstarter (8/2/16) and would love to get feedback. The original project was called 'Royal' and launched just over 3 years ago. I pulled the plug on that project and have been slowly reworking it since. I've been working closely with USPC as well as getting to know some of the other people in the industry.

My intention was to make something that felt familiar, while still having an updated fresh appearance. Every part of the card (typography, pips, courts, back, etc) has been redesigned. One of the things I love about launching on kickstarter is getting all the input to really refine the product.
I hope you like it, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
