I'm going to assume you're seconding Four Points and not one of the other unseconded nominations...  :))

Yessir, fixed my last post.

I camp at my computer, but not for sales. I just like to be lazy sometimes.

I'm guilty of it also. I don't think its something to be embarrassed about. There are worse places to be. It's something I don't complain about. I'm in my comfort zone and its my choice.

Before the internet, people used to wait on lines hours for concert tickets. Travel to dozens of stores to find a highly-saute after OR sold out Christmas toys.

Warning: Grammar Police

People used to travel to dozens of stores for things that were highly... pan fried?   :)

Just busting your chops.  Thought I would get it over with before Don chimes in!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Les Printemps by Ricky Smith [DANANDDAVE.COM]

I feel its a very simple design. I do like it.

Simple, but it has a lot going for it. The fact that these were given to friends of Ricky as wedding favors the likes of Dan & Dave Buck add to the allure of the deck. I really like the "honest" back story. Great idea to help fund Ricky's wedding.

Can someone explain the AoS? I know the logo OR face used is from ZEN. Why is EPCC using it for other decks? What does the logo on the AoS represent?

I think I remember reading somewhere, that is their representation of a Genie. I would imagine they are adopting this as one of, if not their only logo going forward.  A magic based company such as they are, it would make sense to me.  I would guess that any non customized AoS will get this treatment.  Not entirely sure about any of this, it's mostly me speculating.  May be a better idea to ask Bill K via the EPCC PCF AGENT thingy.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: TEASER!! Breaking Bad?
« on: November 09, 2014, 11:30:34 PM »
Here's a little teaser Albino Dragon posted on their fb page.
The signs point to a breaking bad themed deck, however no name has been confirmed.

Is a name really necessary?  It looks like the show's opening sequence!

I think it's safe to say that this is a Breaking Bad deck.   I would say it's 100% Will.

100% Will?  I would have thought paper, personally...  :))

Dammit Don, well done.  I make a concerted effort to use proper English and appropriate punctuation to avoid your corrections.  Burned again!

Congrats on the new position Marcus!  You were already pretty dialed in but it's nice to have an inside man as a member of our community.  Glad I can ask my magic questions here instead of having to deal with the Cafe.

This quote is from Albino Dragon, on this forum, in regards to the last lackluster Breaking Bad deck attempt...

"Yeah, I know a company already has the licensing rights for Breaking Bad so I'm sure we'll see one early next year.

I would agree with Don that creating your own IPs is definitely a much safer route to avoid litigation. "

I think it's safe to say that this is a Breaking Bad deck.   I would say it's 100% Will.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Wizard Wars
« on: September 08, 2014, 10:14:36 PM »
Anyone watch the latest episode of Wizard Wars? Blake Vogt and Adam Trent's performance was by far the best I've seen so far on this show.
Was disappointed with Dan Hauss' performance. The magic was good, showmanship was somewhat bleh. I have the utmost respect for him and the magic he creates, but that performance from him felt boring.
What do you guys think?

I'm finding the pretense to be a bit much.  They show people "working on their act", scouting the props and cutting a random length of wood on the circular saw but NONE of it ends up in their acts.  It's kind of ridiculous, so why bother - ditch that crap, show us the real work or add more performers.  It just wastes time and looks dumb.  How many of those people actually use any of the wood they cut?

Agreed Don, there is a lot of fluff.  They could definitely cut out all that garbage.  I would imagine it's hard to show them actually prepping their routines without tipping any methods.  They could fill the time with the "wizards" and judges performing.  That would be much more enjoyable.

I think Hauss is a much better behind the scenes guy.  He is an excellent creator but I have never been overly impressed with his performances.  At least not the handful that I have seen.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Your top 3 in these categories
« on: September 07, 2014, 07:19:42 PM »
I am just now beginning to collect decks and it's really overwhelming to this newcomer the amount of beautifully designed decks that have come out and/or are coming out, so I would really love to get everyones opinion on their top 3 in these categories. I would really appreciate it as it would help me decide which decks to start off my collection with.

Tuck Box
1) Bohemia

3) Monarchs

Handling
1) Legends V1. This is my all time favorite usable deck and nothing even comes close.  (Drops the Mic)
2) Rider backs. I like to perform so I am used to these as a go to deck.
3) Noc V3.  Again we are back to the EPCC/LPPC companies.  These guys are good.

Overall favorites
1) Bohemia.  Again, Uusi can do no wrong.  This is a fact.
2) Legends V1. These decks are unstoppable!
3) Royal Optik.  I thought long and hard over this last selection.  I just love this team.

Awesome that you were able to cross it off your list.  Congrats on the score.  It is a nice deck.  Enjoy!

EDIT: LET'S GO RAVENS!!!

This guy has had these on ebay for ages @ $20.  Safe to say they are currently worth about $20.  :)

They are not exceedingly rare.  I've heard the gift shop story before and, while I believe it, I'm certain that a lot more than "a few" ended up there along with other outlets.  These are pretty easy to get a hold of.
