Quote
Introducing Knowledge playing cards, the ultra-rare modern classic. An LPCC in-house deck, celebrating all the knowledge Legends PCC has gained from years of innovation in playing card production.

Ultra-black imported Italian Fedrigoni paper. An intensely deep black satin-smooth FSC certified tuck paper. The first of it's kind on any tuck box, with a strong resistance to light. This allows for the hot-stamped gold foil to pop with an intensity never before seen on a tuck box.

From Fedrigoni; "The innovative composition of the alpha cellulose pulp without carbon black dyes prevents oxidation when hot foil processes are used, and also helps reduce scuff-ability. This paper is neutral pH to ensure longevity."

Knowledge features Classic Finish card stock with hot-stamped gold foil card backs, an extremely difficult process pioneered and mastered with our friends at Expert PCC, which requires many steps to be executed correctly.

The classic faces of Knowledge were designed by Peter Gurney of London in his Verdye deck, c.1910 and re-mastered by our in-house artists for a modern print run. The artwork was provided to us courtesy of the Ken Lodge collection, it is the only arts & crafts deck he has heard of and was acquired without a tuck or jokers, which made a perfect fit for Knowledge. The Arts & Crafts movement was at its height from 1880-1910 and its greatest proponents were William Morris and the early Edwin Lutyens.

We fell in love with this art cards when we saw it, the line work and full-framed court cards have a surprisingly modern appearance for a deck produced at the turn of the century. We are proud to bring these classic works of art back to life in an ultra-modern deck of playing cards. We can offer this set of court cards to anyone wanting to print a run of decks with LPCC.

Gold foil seal. Limited to 1,000 decks printed.

Playing Card Plethora / Bicycle Flying Machines
« on: August 15, 2016, 09:35:29 AM »
I rarely start a new topic for something I post in the New Releases thread, but I thought this deserved a topic of its own.  I got my Bicycle Flying Machines deck and really like it, more than I expected to, in fact.  Pretty custom for a Bike deck released directly from USPCC. And it's illustrated by Mark Stutzman.  I picked mine up from Gambler's Warehouse for $5.95.

Playing Card Plethora / Damask Finish
« on: March 01, 2016, 08:12:54 PM »
Did anyone else order the Superior Brand Classic Back Readers from CARC?  Just opened a deck and I'm not really digging the Damask finish. I can see the finish on the cards. And although it feels okay, I don't like how it looks. I don't know how to explain it other than it's not OCD friendly. (Not that I consider myself OCD but symmetry and details are important to me.)

Was wondering what everyone else thought of the finish.

Playing Card Plethora / Gold Monarchs
« on: December 08, 2015, 10:35:23 AM »
I received my Gold Monarch deck a few days ago.  The gold MetalLuxe treatment on the Monarch back looks FABULOUS.  It's super shiny and reflective.  However the registration on the backs and faces leaves a lot to be desired.

Playing Card Plethora / Royal Red Zen
« on: December 04, 2015, 10:52:21 AM »
I'm disappointed in the black foil stamp registration on the Royal Red Zens.  It's all over the place in my deck and hardly ever in the center of the "oval" space.

Elliptica is the next in our series of premium poker decks. Designed by Randy Butterfield and inspired by our love of the classic Bee diamondback design and beautiful simple borderless decks - the Elliptical design runs through the deck and makes for an elegant back and tuck box.

Long term we're aiming for lower price points, bigger runs and and (possibly) more colours with a first edition that will be differentiated simply by a numbered seal. This will be the best value LUXX® deck so far.

Playing Card Plethora / Soundboards
« on: October 30, 2015, 07:58:34 PM »
I just cracked open a pack of Soundboards. I gotta say, I really like everything about this deck. Diggin' the pips, courts, backs, and tuck. Very cool.
